    Sorry, it isn't that one.
C249 clue is - involving the last days.

C251 clue is - a notorious couple are involved..
  • C251 - Bonnie and Clyde? I thought of that straight away but couldn't find that image anywhere I looked.

  • 251 Bonnie and Clyde?

Yes you both are correct. Bonnie And Clyde  from 1967.

A final clue for the above image C249 is that the shotgun wielding male is pointing it at a character portrayed in the film by a forum favourite.
  • Good, Bad and Ugly?
  • Rick said:
    Good, Bad and Ugly?
    No that one

I am thinking that from my clue that you may have been thinking Clint Eastwood. It isn't Clint and you will need to go back a lot earlier to work out the actor. Good luck.
  • For image C249 I had previously mentioned that I had given my final clue.

As I would really like someone to answer this one, I have decided to provide two more clues in the hope that it may result in an answer being found.

The clues are that the film had many screen legends, as well as the lead actor appearing in it, and the director had a successful association with Clint Eastwood over many years.
  • My first thought was Once Upon a time in the West but that obviously isn't right
  • It would certainly appear that the image for C249 has everyone stumped.

I had thought that my clues may have assisted in finding the answer, but this was not to be the case.

The answer I will now reveal  to be The Shootist from 1976. The association I had mentioned  was the professional one between director Don Siegel and John Wayne.

  •  C252

     C253

     C254
    Three more images to ponder.

  • I am surprised that no answers have been forthcoming. As they would then appear to have you struggling. some clues follow.

Clue for C252 is a historical setting is involved.

Clue for C253 is it also involves an historical setting i

Clue for C254 is that the film itself has been included here previously.
  • 252 - North by Northwest at Mt Rushmore?
  • 254 - Dial M for Murder
  • Rick said:
252 - North by Northwest at Mt Rushmore?
I agree.  Been looking for the image and I think it is this one

  • Rick said:
252 - North by Northwest at Mt Rushmore?
Correct. It is North By Northwest from 1959.

    Rick said:
    254 - Dial M for Murder
Correct also, and well done. Dial M For Murder from 1954.

  • Thanks also for  your response Jayn.j. It was received time wise out of order, and after I had acknowledged Rick's answer, hence the repeat of the lobby card image.

This now just leaves C253 unanswered, A further clue is another unusual setting features a great scene in the movie.
  • Is C253 Saboteur (1942)?

    Peter
  • Is C253 Saboteur (1942)?
It is indeed that one. Happy my clues seem to work, The clue of course referred to the famous Statue of Liberty fight scene.

  • Keep 'em coming!

    Peter
  •  C255

     C256

     C257

I am hoping that these three images should visually provide enough for one to work with.

The first film entry C255 once viewed is not easily forgotten.

  • C255 is The Night of the Hunter (1955). Great film.

    Peter
  • C255 is The Night of the Hunter (1955). Great film.

Correct. The Night Of The Hunter was originally banned in Australia. When the film was initially released in the U.S.A. it was not well received by the  critics, or at the box office.

Today it is now considered by many to be a masterpiece. I agree with Peter that it is a great film. A pity that Charles Laughton never directed another film.
