Correct and well done. The image number actually is C256 though.

The following is what was going to be an additional assistance mage that wasn't required. Directed by Anthony Mann who is one of my  favourite directors of western films.

On the top right hand side corner of the above U.S. half sheet, and all the many other copies of this poster that I have checked out,  an odd covering up was added to the poster. My question is why ?

  •  C258
     C259  C260
I am thinking that there shouldn't hopefully be any problems in one being able to identify these three classic titles.

  • Ok, getting in early because I don't know the other two or the B movies quizzes! C259 is Stagecoach (1939)

Correct. Northwest Passage ( Book 1 - Roger's Rangers ) from 1940. The film is based on a best selling novel that was split into two parts, referred to as ''Book 1'' and ''Book 2'' This film was based entirely on ''Book 1".

I intentionally didn't make it a Johh Wayne trio of films on purpose so it wouldn't start to become  too predictable with my image groupings..

  • On Northwest Passage, I read the book as a teen and liked it a lot. If memory serves, the movie only covered the first half because of how much content it had, but it underwhelmed at the box office, and the actors did not like the difficult outdoor filming, so the plug was pulled on the second part and it was never made.

Yes the on location filming conditions were tough for the cast and crew, One memorable scene that was particularly exhausting for the actors involved was the human chain formed and used  to cross the raping rapids of a river.
  •   C261  C262
Two more images to have a think about. One image is from a very well known film, while the other is somewhat lesser so, but this film had a big star headlining it.
