Lena Horne in Stormy Weather.
I might have a fondness beyond the fact that it's a really good film. My mother's maiden name was Horne. -
Ah, my musicals. I'll take the less obvious 420. Dorothy Dandridge in Carmen Jones.
-
Ditto
-
Agree on 418 being easy. 419 is Demi Moore kicking Burt Reynolds in Striptease.
-
Surprised nobody got C625 as the 1946 version of The Postman Always Rings Twice. Kind of a key early scene.
-
Wow, you dug deep for 416. I bet she wished it stayed buried.
Recognized those legs and neck, but had to work to find the film. I expect others will get this, so I will wait. -
Is C623 The Sniper from 1952?
-
I think 415 is Ann-Margret. Don't know the film
-
C619 was a real challenge. I believe it is The Five Pennies from 1959. I eventually found the lobby card image on IMDB. Danny Kaye has been cut from the left side of the image.
-
413 is Gene Tierney in Tobacco Road.
A lifetime ago, I once did lighting design and some sets for a community theater production of TR. I watched that movie dozens of times. -
I know as well, but I already answered one. Good clue.
-
C616 is Romancing the Stone
-
Also, I think lower right is Run Silent, Run Deep.
-
I think upper left is A Hatfull of Rain
-
612 is Night and the City
-
295 Count Yorga vampire
-
Is 608 Georgy Girl? Hint helped
-
Given the clue, I think the film is Picnic
-
289 gave some grief. Everything kept pointing toward The Ghost and Mrs Muir, but that couldn't be right.
Eventually found it as Monster on the Campusin The Horror Quiz Comment by jayn_j June 2025

Got me on that one, Bruce. I held off on Natalie Wood, but my guesses on this one weren't even close

I think 288 is The Devil Bat
-
395 is Brigitte Nielson in Red Sonja
-
393 Shirley Jones in Elmer Gantry. Oscar winning performance
-
Sorry. When I said meh film, I was talking about when worlds Collide. I liked the book, but the movie was schlock.
Agree on LA Confidential. Great film. -
C599 is LA Confidential. Theater marquee is for 1951's When World's Collide. Good book, meh film
-
Damn. Senior moment, I knew that.
-
C598 easy - Short Cuts. Great Kubric film, but very disturbing to watch.
-
If it might give a big clue, I lived in Northern Colorado for 30 years. We used to drive up to Wyoming and one of the restaurants we frequented had this image on their wall.
-
Was hoping someone else would pop in. Second one is Winchester 73
-
Makes sense. Just sloppy on my part.
