C570 - The Magic Box (1951), I thought the image in C571 was from that film but when I went searching for The Magic Box I discovered the image from C570! And now I recognise the image in C571...but I'll leave that to someone else.

(Quote) A belated update on this.
I checked out "Movie posters at auction: Australian results index no. 2, 1992-2000 / Rod Cuthbertson" at the State Library of Victoria today to see whether it included the results of the Pickles A… -

(Quote) I'm pretty sure it's down to resources, they have so much material to preserve that scanning for the website is not a priority, they will get around to most things eventually. It's good that there is the ability to access the material…

Could the daybill in the press sheet have been a generic one for use in New Zealand as well?
-
The daybill design doesn't have a censorship classification. Was that normal?
-
(Quote) Totally agree with the above comment, if it was meant to be a stock poster, where are any other examples? That's why I agree it's not...just looks like ti could be.
-
Valley of Head Hunters has the whiff of a stock poster about it with all that clear space at the bottom, and the title itself looks like they could just keep popping in Jungle Jim titles. Not saying it was a stock poster, but if you didn't know bett…

C 250 is Nosferatu (1922)
-
I wonder if they would have had specific information about the theatre screening it printed on them, like their name or other info?
-
I had two Australian "It Came From Outer Space" 3-sheets. One of which I consigned to Bruce, the other I still have. I picked them up at Space Age books on Swanston Street, Melbourne back in the 80s. That's where a lot of good stuff used to turn up,…

Looking forward to the Horror Quiz.

428 is - D-Day: The Sixth of June (1956) ...

C 554 - Misery (1990)...seeing that I was too late for Meet Me In St Louis.

(Quote) How many instances of first release monotone printings are there for releases from a major studio? That would likely indicate whether there was a full colour version of this (I suspect there would have been)

The only other thought I had was In The Line Of Fire (1993)
-
C553 - thinking a Clint Eastwood film, but that's all I've got.
I'll take a stab in the dark and say Dirty Harry 1971 -
The previous clue actually gave it to me. James Stewart shared his name with Stewart Grainger. I knew that without looking it up.

C 552 - James Stewart in The FBI Story (1959)
-
Hopefully that might drag some more unsighted posters out in the open.
-
Great info, Thanks for sharing.

I'm not aware of Regent Films but if they were only a small company would they have gone to the expense of printing daybills or just imported posters?
-
C545 - Sweet Charity (1969) - Iconic!
-
No wonder I couldn't find that image from The Man Who Knew Too Much!
-
A guess, but is C538 Carry on Teacher (1959) - the third in the series! I previously looked at this title but couldn't find the image anywhere.
-
C540 - The Children's Hour (1961)...I'm on a roll now...one more to go.
