C542 - The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956 version). The clue gave it away

C543 - A Chump At Oxford (1940)...sorry, been busy this weekend, will look at others tomorrow

The reason I mentioned Stellan Windrow was because he was first contracted to play Tarzan, filmed some scenes, but then pulled out and was replaced by Elon, I mean, Elmo Lincoln. Some of his shots apparently remain in the film. Was it Stellan Windrow? Or Elmo's stunt double Frank Merrill who appeared first on screen? Perhaps swinging through the tress? I haven't seen it so don't know. It's NOT terrific?Been waiting for this!
C 537 - Goodbye Mr Chips (1939)Just don't make it too easy! Now I see it!Words fail me!We don't do Thanksgiving, seems to be a just an American thing, we do however have Black Friday sales now, and Halloween. Any excuse for selling more merchandise basically! Some stock posters that Leonard Martin is auctioning off are at this link. Images attached. in Lack of stock posters Comment by dedeposter November 2024Probably totally off the mark but reminds me of an older Robert Taylor.Definitely Paul Newman! She's wearing different shoes!I actually consider those two titles 'newer' classic films! Most of my preferred viewing is from the 20s, 30s & 40s. I grew up on a diet of B&W films on weekend TV. I'll push Caligari to the top of my viewing list, I've had the BluRay for ag…They refer to him as Stanley, rather than Stan.If only I had more knowledge of older films, my tastes vary but I'm finding that even in my 60s I'm still catching up with classic films. My appetite is voracious but there's only so many hours in a week that I can watch films. My current obsession …I wish I could contribute more but it's probably the more well known films I'd recognise.Saps at Sea features an image of them from Babes In Toyland.I'd hazard a guess that it was used for generic Tarzan matinees.I thought John just said he'll post it here, not that he has posted it. I assume he's still looking for it. Is that the post you mean?Great images! It's a good theme, keeps me guessing!Crikey! I'll have to do a deep dive into all those other school themed films I thought of.And while I'm at it - C530 - School of Rock (2003) - obvious with the clue! That was a screenshot, this is the email text I received. The link doesn't go to an existing post, just this page. Maybe something to do with your images not appearing? Probably a random email / server issue.
Vintage Movie Posters F…Also, got this email notification this morning but can't see your post on here.

I just found the final image, which was a film I thought of earlier but didn't pursue. I'll wait until the end of today to see if anyone comes up with it.C533 - threw me for a sec because the image was black & white, thought the film was much older - Goodbye My Chips (1939), but ended up going down a rabbit hole and realising it's To Sir With Love (1967)C534 - The Browning Version (1951) - ?
