If it might give a big clue, I lived in Northern Colorado for 30 years. We used to drive up to Wyoming and one of the restaurants we frequented had this image on their wall.
The answer for C596 is The Man From Laramie from 1955. The actor appearing on a horse in my earlier posted image is Lee Van Cleef, seen being threatened by James Stewart's character.
James Srewart and director Anthony Mann collaborated on a total of eight films together between 1950 and 1955, including five excellent westerns, These being Wincherter'73, Bend Of The River, The Naked Spur, The Far Country and The Man From Laramie. The other three non western films are Thunder Bay, The Glenn Miller Story and Strategic Air Command.
C598 easy - Short Cuts. Great Kubric film, but very disturbing to watch.
Correct answer for the 1993 film Short Cuts, so good work in recognising it. A little confused though by the Stanley Kubrick credit as the film was directed by Robert Altman.
C599 is LA Confidential. Theater marquee is for 1951's When World's Collide. Good book, meh film
Correct. L.A. Confidential from 1997. A great film that starred two Australian actors at the beginning of their big Hollywood careers that were to follow. Another Australian actor who had a small part in the film is Simon Baker, He went on to star in the hugely successful U.S. hit television series The Mentalist (2008-2015).
Just watched the trailer for L.A. Confidential and it has made me think that I need to revisit this top notch film once more.
C601 is The Boston Strangler. I am so old I saw it when it came out.
It IS astounding so many women opened their door to a complete stranger even well after the public was repeatedly warned.
Correct. The Boston Strangler from 1968.
The below third person featured in the terrified ladies lineup going from right to left is interesting. I agree Bruce how absolutely astonishing it was that women opened their doors when advised not to do so during the known killing spree.
The actual images of the victims. At the time of their death the women were aged between 19 to 85.. Only five of the 13 women were younger being aged between 19 and 23. The remaining majority of 8 women were aged between 58 and 85, unlike the film poster depiction of them all being younger women.
There were older women victims shown in the movie as appearing below, but the 2Oth Century Fox heads and art department decided to include only younger women in their poster advertising.
Isn't there a murderer movie called 10 Rillington Place, or something like that?
Yes Bruce there is a 1971 film titled 10 Rillington Place which is about a serial killer, but sorry to say it isn't that one. Great thinking though. A final clue is that the famous residence was the home of someone renowned for being on the right side of the law, and was located in the same city.

The latest images to challenge one. A little information is that I can confirm that they are from non horror films.
