Quota Numbers?
Hi everyone! I’ve noticed that some of my Australian press sheets have a ‘QUOTA NO.’ on them and, having not heard of them before, wanted to ask if they are like US NSS numbers?

Seeing it would only appear to apply to BEF releases this quota number application, for whatever purpose used by them was an internal one.,
The first number quoted is the year of the films overseas release. No year listed though for Foreign independent films.
The second number I initially had thought was for the order in which the BEF titles were allocated a number prior to their release for that year. The 4 and 6 allocations of these low numbers to two of the films seemed it could be the case. The listed 25 number seemed unlikely though, and most certainly the very high 64 number would rule out this thinking altogether. Also the foreign films had no number allocated at all..
My thoughts only on the subject.
