Impressive display and you certainly are lucky to own all the first release Australian daybills. I have already played the video numerous times.
A couple of questions do spring to mind though.
How many years did it take to complete the collection?
I have images of four other Elvis duotone daybill images including one for Loving You that to me is well above average in design. Are you aming to continue to collect duotone daybill images for any other titles that you currently don't own as well?
I now have images of eight Elvis duotone daybill posters, locating four more, that are not on the video. I am sure Rick that you are aware off them all though..
Thanks Lawrence. It took a lot of searching. I was down to Love me Tender and Blue Hawaii. LMT eventually came up on eBay and I paid a lot for it, then an old school friend saw a guy selling daybills on Facebook and alerted me to it. I enquired and he had a Blue Hawaii so i was in the car the next day! I don't have that version of Loving You if you happen to want to sell. All the duotones I've got are in the video.
It is great Rick that you have all the original colour Elvis daybill posters for all his films. The Loving You daybill isn't mine and it is the only image that I have ever sighted. I am uncertain as to where the image originated from.
The following images are mainly from Bruce'a archives and complete the daybill images that I am aware of that you haven't displayed on your video. I thought is would be good to have all the known Elvis daybill images grouped together in the one residence.
One has to wonder if there were any other Elvis titles that had duotone designed printings produced for them? If this is perhaos true then it could be just a case of them just not having appeared to date.
And here's the sequel - my Australian one-sheet collection, sadly incomplete but still growing. Next will be some US and UK posters, plus some sci-fi and horror images.
Fantastic Rick. You are a true and dedicated fan. Considering that I have never sighted a number of your images I think that you have been very fortunate in being able to acquire some many. There certainly are a few rare posters among your collection.
Curious as to the reason for the appearance of the Double Trouble image being repeated.
The only other Australian one sheet images of Elvis sheets that I am aware of appear below.
The images shown above, in order of presentation, are courtesy of John. Bruce, and Heritage Auctions Blue Hawaii from an unknown source.
Good luck in your quest to obtain all the Elvis one sheets missing from your collection.
Thanks Lawrence. I have Harum Scarum, accidentally put Double Trouble in its place. I also have that Fun in Acapulco but managed to miss that one as well. Most of the other titles i have in either US or UK posters. Next clip will be sci-fi!
