For me, the hardest part of Christmas lights is the electrical connections. Making sure I'm running power and have all the connections fitting together. And then making sure they are somewhat waterproof as December is typically a very wet month for us.
This year I'm buying some large Tupperware boxes and making them hold my larger power strips, then I will elevate them a half foot or so off the ground to avoid sitting in water.
Heres a sample connection of one of my three power strips I'll use to power the brilliance! .....Matt, Charlie or anyone else feel free to chime in if you see something I should change.
Same one but I might you an adapter to give the plugs a more secure connection.
Last year we had several heavy rains and wet connections tripped my gfci and I lost all outside lights. Unacceptable.
It's good to know the other forum approve of our content as well as our decorations so much so that you-know-who continues to stalk and copy - obviously with formal approval of his protectors, those pet owners...
Reversing the tiptoeing Santa doesn't make it less a copy, and I refer to our 'Who's Coming To Town' decoration (first went up here last year).
Went for my nightly run tonight & took a few pictures of the lights up in our subdivision. I'll share some of the festivities as the month progresses, and I drag my old arse out into the cold.... This one has some nice blow-ups!
