It's the "New Golden Age" of television. In the U.S. there are 500+ new scripted (not reality) TV shows available on networks, cable channels, or streaming services like Netflix.
I currently watch a grand total of one: Twin Peaks. And I've only watched 8 out of 15 episodes released so far.
It's all just too overwhelming really...way too many choices....
