    I agree.

The other main clue is at the bottom of each poster. The printers name. The font lettering is consistent for those posters printed in and around 1961.

The green version with the crudely painted guns is the first printed. Seems odd they did this but Peck's face being the lead character is far better in this print than all the others. It also has the original rating before they cut a couple of scenes. Then it came out with a snipe over the top. Then they redesigned the poster probably for extended runs in the cinemas.

"'Then they redesigned the poster probably for extended runs in the cinemas."  Would you mind supplying image/s of the '' redesigned'' poster you refer to ?
  • The other two with "Filmed on location in Greece" The yellow Aussie and the greenish Kiwi daybill.
  • The other common theme is the book by Alistair Maclean is shown on those three daybills and the one sheet.
  • Do you have an image of a 3 sheet with "Filmed on location in Greece" on it?

Thank you for that. For the record I would like you to confirm that you agree that all first release posters of ''The Guns Of    Navarone'' would have had to have had '' Filmed On Location In Greece'' printed on them ? I agree with you  regarding that the ''redesigned posters'' were later follow up printings.
