I have never had that one sheet but I know of two that exist. Interesting to see the images of some of the others that I have had in the past or still have like It Isn't Done and Wings of Destiny, etc. I have a lot of other rare images of other posters which I will post soon.

Excellent. I look forward to seeing them and I still have a lot of images awaiting to be displayed as well, so happy days.
Thanks for that Lawrence...I had seen the trade ad for Thoroughbred, but not orphans.
Can't wait to see what you have for uncivilised!
It isn't that great but is all I have ever found. Look for it later on my Rare Non Australian Posters of Australian Films thread. I must admit I have partly drawn a long bow though.

Sorry I posted twice. Almost the same except for one word.
It does look like it could be a 3 sheet - never seen it before. I wondered whether that Typhoon Treasure poster at the beginning of this thread could be a three sheet also.

Could possibly be. The image size wasn't mentioned when I originally sighted it and I thought it was a daybil,l but since you have brought it up John. I am now thinking it possibly is a 3 sheet. A rare poster whatever size it may be.

Who was the printer - not all Daybill printers printed 3 sheets and some 3SH printers specialised in large offormat printing as a result. Could be a clue

I had thought of that but unfortunately with both Typhoon Treasure and Sons Of Matthew this information isn't available.
# 18. Avengers Of The Reef ( 1973 ). Australian distributor was Roadshow and also was self- distributed. Very rare daybill with no distributor's name appearing on it. Was is used for the Roadshow release, the self- distributed bookings or for both ?
'Tis, but as I always say, where there is one, there will usually be another...so you will get no claims of only one in existence from me on anything I own
My opinion on some these unknown printed duo/mono tones is to perhaps match the font to other known ones - it wouldn't be a surprise to find certain printers each had their own font for some of these.

True, but in your mind only, if only temporary, it must be good to think perhaps it may be the only copy around. The problem of course is those dastardly daybills know how to breed.
Australian Film Posters 1906-1960. Published in 1978. A great resource and as Ves previously mentioned on the ''Rare Non Australian Posters Of Australian Films'' thread. an updated version is required. I would say well and truly overdue.
As I believe any member who doesn't own a copy of this poster book and loves Australian dayills should have a copy, then you have two opportunities to acquire a copy in buying or bidding through Bruce. It doesn't bother me how the book is acquired but it will be money well spent for any lover of Australian film poster artwork. My advice is with all the publicity the book is currently receiving act quickly.

Gorgeous posters John. Never seen that Orphans before. Stunning.

Sorry missed this. Newspaper clippings.
Oh! Last one a 3 Sheet?
Oh and pictures of the one sheet don't do it justice. A stunning poster!

It might rare, but it sure is fugly
True, but isn't it a nice feeling to have something rare that no one else seems to have, no matter how uninspiring the poster looks like.
