No pics, sorry. Go to Tyabb.

I can't go to Tyabb...It will be too hard not to spend more money.

Saw a R45 Set of the Adventures of Robin Hood Lobby cards yesterday. Blown away how good they looked. Almost 3 D like in colour.

Nah, totally original. That's why they looked great.
  • Old chap pops his head in and starts talking movie posters, we had a great chat and suddenly 45 minutes has gone by and he needs to go before he gets a parking ticket...he says he will be back. Sounds like he has a great collection too...

I've never even looked inside an Aston, nor could I ever afford one, but this looks like it would rip the hairs your knuckles...

    Aston Martin DB11 Volante revealed

British brand starts teasing drop-top DB11 with first official images

Aston Martin has started to remove the veil of secrecy from its latest flagship drop-top sports car.

The British brand has released a series of images of the upcoming DB11 Volante on social media ahead of its official reveal, tipped to be at next year's Geneva motor show judging by the slogan "opening Spring 2018" emblazoned on its doors and rear bumper.

The lightly disguised prototype is shown with its fabric folding roof in place and fake panels on the rear haunches and bootlid, which is likely to disguise how the convertible will channel air through to its 'blown' rear spoiler - a function that is already a key part of the DB11 coupe via its scalloped C-pillars which obviously don't exist on the open-air model. In their place (and hidden under the panels), the Volante is expected to feature small intakes ahead of the rear wheels to perform the same function.

Otherwise, with the exception of its folding roof, the Volante is expected to share the DB11 coupe's mechanical underpinnings, which includes a lightweight aluminium chassis fitted with a brand-new 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 that drives the rear wheels through a rear-mounted eight-speed automatic transmission.

The DB11 Volante is the next model in a significant overhaul of Aston's entire line-up that consists of revealing a new variant every nine months towards 2020. The Volante is likely to be followed by the next-generation Vantage coupe - featuring the AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 from the GT and C63 - later in 2017 and then a convertible version in early 2018. An all-new Vanquish is expected to be the next model ahead of the first of its DBX SUVs and then the AM-RB 001 hypercar jointly developed with the Red Bull Racing Formula One team.

The Aston Martin models will then be highlighted by the revival of the Lagonda brand with a flagship luxury limousine and SUV from 2020.

  • Talking cars, found out today I need new rear tyres on the car.

    Fuck it.
  • So... Brangelina is to be no more. Divorce on the way.... Somehow I thought they will make it. They look like the couple made in heaven....
  • Where the hell is the History tab gone in PayPal? I can't see where I have sent money requests (not business but personal).

Buggered if I can see where it is.
  • Gone. You now have to use the date filter top left. I also think it now only shows transactions up to two years ago, prior up to four or five years, pretty sure
  • So I can't see who I have sent an email bill to now?
  • Endangered in Hawaii now...
  • Road in our local event yesterday, Around the Bay in a Day. The plan was to do 250km, got smashed by winds gusting 60-80kmh, managed just 209km before I pulled the pin absolutely shattered. Brutal wind.

Great effort. You copped probably the worse wind in the history of the event!
  • Wow! That's some wind David! I try to jog 3 miles in a light breeze & it's torture! 209km in 60-80mph winds is pure determination. Great effort!
  • @Mark - that's kph, so more like 35-50mph

@Sven - thanks, just read and see that quarter of the field didn't even make the ferry (150km)!

Oh...that's still a horrible wind to contend with!

  • If none of our australian members picked these up recently, I am extremely dissapointed of you.

  • Maybe a stupid question, but why is the 1sht for LA Confidential so sought after?

I completely understand our individual tastes-it certainly has a nice clean layout, it was nominated for AA's & Bassinger looks very pretty-but I would never have guessed $1,300 for a faded copy!
  • Link to LA Cinfidential poster sale. I read the important info-but still don't get it I guess.

  • Wasn't me, but I don't do horror...who's not admitting to their buy?!
  • Ah, the rarer international style.

Is it worth the price paid?  To the people who bought it, yes I guess.

This version is far less common than the one you normally see.

But like all things, you have to be into that sort of thing to see it's value.

That's a strategy many an under-bidder has come up with...once he became the under-bidder :perturbed:
