Not much happened... One disturbing note is that one of our own admins couldn't figure out how to change his avatar. And it appears that no one bought any posters this month. I bought a few more stills but am too lazy to do much of anything especially take pictures.
Thank you Sven for bringing this information to my attention as it is very interesting and I hadn't known about It before now.
Dear Len Gates. He gave away selling posters a few decades back. Haven't heard anything about him for some considerable time. Interestingly Len mentioned he dealt mainly with Americans and I have heard that Australian posters have long been purchased by Americans and the posters now reside the U.S. I wonder if this may partly explain why some titles such as An Affair To Remember, early Marilyn Monroe titles from the early 1950s, some early Universal horror and countless others are hard to locate ? I know of a collector who had a very large collection and when he passed away his collection ended up in the U.S.A.
Nice article, Sven! Thanks for sharing. Just amazing to see prices from 30 yrs ago, compared with today. Being old it makes me think, "wish I would've..."
My my question now is: where will prices be in 2046? Will we be saying, "wish i would've..." In my case I could be pushing up daisies, but my kids...
I loved dealing with Len, he was a great guy. Was still selling maybe hmm...10 years ago. I recently tried to get in touch with him, but his son (I think) advised he is no longer in the business.

Shame - he was loverly!
I spoke to Len a long time ago and I am sure I was told by him he wasn't in the business and his son who was in it with him wasn't interested anymore. So this along with Len not getting any younger probably found it was getting too much for him to manage anymore. He indeed is a nice person.
Watching Olympics-movie "Sully" coming out soon. Eastwood & Hanks, should be worth admission. Posters typical 21st Cent. IMAX version a little better...

Did Len move to Dromana or around that area? Or am I thinking of someone else.
