Well, the removal of the white sticker was only a partial success. The corner dried and the paper was thinned out to much for my satisfaction-when linenbacked I'm afraid it will show up to noticeable.
So I thought, I'll try it again, but with more saturation of water, steam, heat & a longer time period...and the results?!!!...
Nearly the same...I took about 25 mins of soak time. It still took off a very thin layer of paper, thinning the poster. Unacceptable, what next...
If you possibly can, try to shoot "before" and "after" shots in the same location, with the same lighting, and at the same angle. That way, we can all see the real differences, and won't get confused by those other factors.
But great job!

I know, your right. The "before" and "after" shots seem to show the poster has lost color! But it hasn't. I will post a photo of the room my wife has graciously allowed me to dedicate to my hobby. It's only about 200 sq ft, so space is limited with two work tables, two book cases, an easy chair and small tv for me to, well, "escape" to every now and then.
I will eventually mount/hang the magnetic whiteboard on a wall, I have two light umbrellas and a 32GB Nikon with tripod for taking better before and after photographs. But with all things, time. I have more desire to work on posters than taking the time to photo them.

I was trying to tactfully keep from mentioning that! I knew it was only the lighting, but other people might not.

Thanks Bruce. I recently inquired about your sites photography & saw your set up-with (4) light umbrellas & two stations. I'm trying to get one up, with (2) umbrellas, like David's to start.
The first Longest Day was photographed flat on blue paper in natural light, the second was on a magnetic whiteboard with somewhat diffused light from a large window.
If there had been "only" 21 stickers, you could rename the move to "Three Stickers Each For Seven Brothers"

These stickers were non-water based. I tried water/steam/heat twice & failed/learned. I had to use Bestine, which is a rubber solvent and does a good job at loosening the adhesive used in the stickers.
Ive never come across a water based yet. Was hoping these were but haven't yet.
From what i understand, most snipes on the front of posters are water based. Charlie may know more than me in this subject.
The Bestine worked great and it's now in to the wash process!

upper left of the poster...
Now to go on Amazon to order a 3M organic vapor mask and goggles. Open a window, crank the fan, and get to work.
•Before-it had some wrinkling in the btm qtr from possible exposure to moisture? Overall it looked good for a 64 yr old poster.
•After-a wash, including deacidification and small spot bleach to the stain on the lower left ( which did moderate somewhat).
But great job!

As I was pulling off sticker 19 yesterday, that's exactly what I was thinking!
Before-
After-
Tricky part is going to sand the tape residual left behind and not damage the paper...
Front side condition-
