Indeed I will!! These visits to auctions are the best chance I have to see some of this brilliant paper. Just a shame I cannot go to the US to see some of the HA posters.
Now that I think about it, what about EMP, Bruce do you do viewings for your main auctions?
Rosa, I do not have any scheduled viewings or previews. These are needed at the auctions that have fuzzy images or poor (or deceptive) condition descriptions because those may be the ONLY way to determine the exact condition an item is actually in.
I WOULD hold a preview "by appointment only". Over the years several dozen collectors and dealers have taken an invited trip to West Plains Missouri, but not to see items for auction, but rather to see just how our operation works, and how we are able to prepare 3,000 auctions a week.
People who come are always most struck by how big our space is (and we use every inch of it), because it is one thing to read "entire city block" and another to walk through it all. They also are struck by how hard working everyone here is, because without that we could not do all we do.
If you want to come, let me know!

Bruce, Thank you! I bet your whole team operates in military precision. I can only imagine how difficult must be turning around so many auctions so quickly . But you have an incredibly effective team. Are you not worried that visitors might copy your management style and go on to set up their own based on your business model ? I am still hopeful that you will set up one in Europe!
I would love to go and see the place in full swing. And I would particularly want to thank in person whoever writes the description. There is always an incredible story about the film, actress that just makes that reading most enjoyable (and the poster even more desirable).
I might take your word and visit. Chances are...i might not want to leave...
John Reid just shared on Facebook that there are likely at least two of each style found. The other two are trimmed along all borders and mounted to a board - of course they still look fantastic!
Seems the Heritage copies are likely also restored to correct these issues...

Hah!
Thanks. I have zero fear anyone would "copy my management style and go on to set up their own based on my business model".
Why? Because it takes an insane amount of hard work by people who have been doing it for ten or more years to make it happen!
I even commissioned a comic strip on that very point:
And if you have any other reason to visit the Central U.S. (like going to Branson, MO), then DO include coming to see us. But be sure to let me know when, so it won't be during a time I am traveling.

Was just previewing Emovieposters Part I of its upcoming June 8 auction. It has so many sweet 1930's One Sheets. Love the color & artwork! Just a few of my favorites I'll be tracking... and I'll be honest...some of the movies Ive never heard of, do recognize most of the names, but the artwork is where it's at!!!

My preferred style, but both fantastic.
Shame the Daybill didn't go with either design instead of followed the LC? May have sold for far more when it came up (USD$400 in 2016)...perhaps
