We should start a kiddos art thread. They are so precious and the we just stuff them in a box.
    I have a couple hanged.
Bloody Hell Matais! Most parents just send them to their room.
    That's just bunker life
  • Damn, I knew I was doing something wrong!
    Back to parent school...

He haven't shown that Eastwood series to him yet, although he'd like the orangutan that's for sure!

    Here's his latest work...

Wow love it!!! You must be so proud :)

    Really brilliant

Thanks Rosa, he's just 6 1/2 but he loves to draw as most little kids do! We must have about 2-3 bins of his artwork, and i love them all!  :)
  • Ok. Major addition today to the poster lair. Was really excited when my neighbor down the street text a picture of two flat files he was picking up at work that we’re no longer needed. Score!

Add the tabletop, and space saving while gaining storage!

  • Woooo Whoooo!
  • Yeah baby!!!!
  • Super dooper!
  • Congratulations, Mark! What a stroke of luck! Did you make the tabletop, or did it come with?
  • Thanks guys! The cabinets are a tad smaller than my first one, the interiors measure 37(I think, will have to remeasure) x 43 1/4. So they’ll just barely fit a linenbacked 1S with and inch border on the length.

Yes, I made the table top, but it’s the one I made almost 4 years ago for my linenbacking and it fits perfect!
  • Flat files are a necessity in this hobby :)
  • It ain't much to look at, but here's a panoramic shot of the poster lair as of 2/16/19. I knew if I took still pictures of it, I'd just focus on the posters, so here it is, warts and all.

  • Wowzers!!! Now we’re talkin!!!!

    Great setup, Rock! :)

Certainly looks like place to relax, crack a few cold ones a enjoy the scenery!
  • Fantastic Rock! Seeing all the posters together make for total viewing enjoyment, 50s hot rods, sexy ladies..i read all the cool tag lines of each poster also..yes yes yes! I dont have a poster lair, but this wluld be exactly what inwould want and away from screaming kiddies ( next house..please
    Please!!)
  • I was also wondering how many of those titles are know to exist in daybill format..i have not see a single daybill from those titles
  • Thanks, guys. It ain't much, but it's functional. Music, posters, books and internet access (and a moving/saluting/talking buzz lightyear coin bank ;)  ) . That's probably all the necessities. As far as cold ones, diet mountain dew is about as exciting as it gets for me. With regards to the screaming kiddies, I know what you mean. All the older 1 sheet poster frames that I own have cracked plexi because of the kiddies. Those were good times though. Definitely don't wish 'em away.

One of the resident daybill experts might have the answer to the question about those types of titles. Joy Ride and The Violators (although not pictured in the lair) are pretty readily available as daybills. Last year I picked up a Juvenile Jungle daybill that I had never seen before, but sadly, it ain't much to look at.
  • Fantastic setup Matt. I wouldn't mind looking through some of the books, specially Pin Up girls!
  • I definitely enjoy illustration art, especially pin up art, and also the photographic side of pin up art, such as work by Viva Van Story, Robert Alvarado and others. If I had REALLY deep pockets I'd collect original paintings by Elvgren, Petty, Mozert, Vargas, etc. I'm pretty sure my future holds no fear of that, though.  :(

I did learn through Rich Halegua that original comic art is something that can be purchased, so I do have some of that around, but none currently displayed.
