    Belgian My Fair Lady...

So this is my copy I restored. Notice the white 'hinge' at the top and the key is the printer's information on the right just above the black. It has "Maurice Pannels"...

    image

The 69' RR which has no white 'hinge' area and has "IMPR LICHTERT Bruxelles 7" on the right.

    image

The 70' RR is easy. It has "Excelsior" at the top, same printer's info as the 69'...

...to make a long story short...was browsing EMP linen backed preview and saw the James Stewart poster Navy Blue & Gold referred to as an R41-the movie was released in 1937. I have only seen sold the version I own below...

After looking through HA's data base-I couldn't find an original 1937 image on EMP...HA had a press book from the original 1937 film release showing the two original one sheets...images from HA below.. .

...the short version...what I thought was an original '37 is a rerelease from '38?...'41?...oh well, I still love the poster!...
    :D
  • Nice poster. Got me stumped.

Best I could find was this:

  • Thanks, yeah that's the midget window card. What had confused me is that when I bought it from an Internet site years ago it was listed as the 1937 release, it even appeared that way on HA; and then the same poster on HA was identified as an R'38. I thought they had just made a mistake with the R designation-....the EMP designation it was an R41 had me further search to find the Pressbook showing the original 1937 versions of the one sheet...mystery solved. I like the image for a re-release...

First Release Italian bonds normally have the "Dear Films" Bell symbol + "Avertzenza" printing information on the lower right

The re-release has the "T" United Artist symbol.

Some bond Italians have both the "Dear Films" Bell and the "T" United Artist symbol - This is a re-release

    image

It get's tricky with this From Russia with Love 2F Both appear to be first release, but the printing information is slightly different. One has " Gennalo 1964" at the end of the printing information and the other does not.

Interestingly enough HA just sold the From Russia with Love "First Release 1964" 4F with "1965" in the printing information

Life is tough trying to date Italian posters, particularly for bonds!

After closely inspecting the following first release Italian Goldfinger (US release 1964, Italian Release 1965)

The printing information on the lower left is the same as the From Russia With Love 2F as follows
    image
The Avertzenza printing information is also the same

So therefore I can only assume the From Russia with Love 2F with "Gennallo 1964" is first release from 1964, whilst the other (without "Genallo 1964" is second release 1965 - both with identical artwork)
