Is This Forum Still Alive — or Just Archived?
I believe the last nine new topics in this wonderful forum were all started by me. The newcomer. Otherwise, there’s nothing happening.
ChatGPT suggests the following reasons:
Demographic effect
The core collectors who intellectually sustained the forum are now 60+. Many of them rarely post anymore. The younger generation collects differently — faster, more visual, more transactional.
Platform shift
Discussions have migrated to Facebook groups, Messenger chats, and Discord servers. Interaction there tends to be less deep, but more frequent.
Market transparency through auction archives
In the past, the forum was a primary source of information. Today, Heritage, eMoviePoster, Worthpoint, etc. provide price data directly. The informational advantage of the forum has diminished.
Commercialization of the market
Many major players no longer discuss matters publicly. Market movements are observed rather than debated.
Collector behavior
More is being bought than analyzed. And when analysis does occur, it often happens one-to-one via email or direct message.
This forum feels about as alive as an old poster. That’s genuinely sad. A pity. It makes me wonder whether my typing here is even worth it.
Or am I overlooking something?

years ago. Most of us have seen almost every type of post and question. We probably have already collected 90% of the material we wanted to collect (within our own fiscal constraints)…
Plus there are personalities on here and some clash.
