The End is Here for Pulfixin...

Wash table has been dismantled and tossed. Majority of my frames have been tossed. Don’t have time... It doesn’t look good.

Thanks for all the support over the years. I know some folks think I was full of it but I would put my research and trial and error up against most. It truly is an art and a science one that takes years of dedication and passion.

I want to thank Dario for all the good tips and advice - damn everyone else who thought it was some big secret.

I’ll be back - I promise. It could be years or decades but I’ll eventually find time again one day.

  • End of an Era...
  • Give me the names of the people who thought that you were full of it. I won't do or say anything against them.

Just disrespect them.....nah respect the accomplished and forget the rest.
  • Pulpfixin was a favorite on my phone. I read and reread your thread that contained it all. It was truly  inspiring, as was the quality of your work.

Agreed, Dario, the Yoda master, and you are probably the only two that have ever shared the  nuts and bolts of the trade.

I know I speak for myself, and sure many of those out there, that we look forward to the Dude’s return!   ;)

It was a great run! ??
  • You'll  return and in greater numbers!   :)
Enjoy the extra time to pursue other enjoyments in your life
  • Sorry to hear this, but it was fun to watch the journey, and happy to have a few items in the Babic collection backed by yourself.

Look forward to the retirement days when you can do whatever the feck you want!

Interesting to hear about the nay-sayers...not sure what that was all about...some people!
  • Hi Charlie,

I think you did really well and you might have started/inspired a little bit of a movement.

Linen backing and restoration is not exact science. You know the intensity and energy involved and you did it!

I am sure you will be back and I hope you will still collect and stick around.

Nothing but thumbs up to you my man!
    dario.
  • Agreed with all of the above, Charlie. If dedication, blood, sweat, tears, possibly a curse word or two, and cumulative time spent were the new world's currency, you could afford to retire many times over. Congratulations on the level of skill you achieved, and if it fits back into your life at some point, you can welcome it like an old friend.  :)
  • Charlie, the information and research that you have provided has been invaluable. Well done!
