UUU. In real life was once described as''the woman who looks more like .......... than .......... does''.

WWW. Appeared in a follow up film to a now classic Hollywood film.

XXX.  Once played a Queen to a King in a film in name only.

Correct. Son Of Kong from 1933.

The only other films I have seen her in are She ( 1935 ) and His Girl Friday  ( 1940 ).

Helen Mack and Randolph Scott in She and Helen Mack seen above with Rosalind Russell and John Qualen in His Girl Friday.

The clue you got right. Additional clue is that this actress appeared in a number of westerns, including one that starred a real life decorated world war 11 hero.

  •  XXX

Some additional images of this actress follow, and hopefully will be able to assist in solving who the above yet unanswered actress is.

The below images are scenes from three other different films.

     UUU

The above image is a studio publicity photograph. I will admit that this actress is one of the hardest to answer entries I have included here. I had originally thought that the Rita Hayworth resemblance would have been the means to gain an answer to who she is.

Two images follow from films she appeared in, but I am doubtful that they will be able to assist you. I have held back one other image where she appears with a major Hollywood star which would allow you to be able to answer correctly her name. If the name of this actress remains unanswered I will include the other image here shortly.

  •  UUU  XXX

Final clues for the above actresses are scenes from two films that they appeared in. These images should enable one to come up with the answers.
  • XXX is Jean Willes as the "Lady in Red" from The FBI Story.

I'll leave the easier UUU for someone else.

Correct. I have read that Jean Willes in real life was the best pal of Jane Russell.

Jean Willes appears above with Brian Keith  in the 1955 film 5 Against The House.

Apart from The FBI Story ( 1959 ) the remaining images are from From Here To Eternity ( 1953 ), The King And Four Queens ( 1956 ), and Monkey Businessmen ) ( 1946  short subject ).

UUU is Julie Adams in The Lawlwss Breed (1952)

Oops, my bad.  It is actually Mary Castle - same film.

Correct. Is seen appearing with Rock Hudson and John McIntire in the above image.

The image below is a Universal Pictures publicity photograph, Would have been taken sometime around her brief stint at Universal when she appeared in  The Lawless Breed ( 1952 ) and Gunsmoke ( 1953 ) with Audie Murphy.
     .

Another studio publicity photograph below, This time from Columbia Pictures promoting Eight Iron Men in 1952, She certainly looks a lot like Rira Haywoth here.

This above scene is from Eight Iron Men ( 1952 ), and then part of an Italian poster image of White Fire ( 1953 ).

I like the following quote from Mary from the Los Angeles Daily News, August 2, 1950. ''Many people comment on my resemblance to Miss Hayworth. I always say I don't look like Rita, Rita looks like me''. ( IMDb ).

  •  YYY  ZZZ

What about theser two actresses then? One of them is well known, but the other not so much. I think both answers, without any clues, are achievable.

  • ZZZ sure looks like very young Myrna Loy. I have no clue as to the movie.

Correct and well done in identifying her. Looks like the image is from the 1920s but no details known.

The following image in more likely to be as to how she will be remembered

Correct again. High Plains Drifter was released in 1973, I recently watched this film and it is certainly is an interesting western and certainly I believe to be one of Clint's best.

      CCCC   DDDD

Four more actresses that hopefully will be able to be identified.
  • BBBB Helen Westcott

    BBBB Helen Westcott
Correct. The scene is from the film The Gunfighter ( 1950 ), in which Helen Westcott appeared with Gregory Peck. An excellent western worth seeking out.

Correct.  Harum Scarum was certainly one of Elvis Presley's more forgettable movies from 1965. Mary Ann Mobley was Miss America in 1959.

  • is CCCC from an Elvis movie?  That Harum one?
  • is CCCC from an Elvis movie?  That Harum one?
Yes it is. Already answered though.

  • Darn it.  New site gets me again.

  •  AAAA   DDDD

I am thinking that these two remaning images may prove to be a little difficult in finding answers for, so some clues follow to hopefully assist you.

AAAA clue is that the role the pictured actress appeared in had another actress play her as a young girl in this film. This young actress in later years  went on to win an Academy Award.

DDDD clue is that this actress earlier in her career had played the sister of Elizabeth Taylor in a film.

  •  EEEE  FFFF

Some actresses playing damsels in distress to be identified.
  • I recognize FFFF as Nina Foch, but don't know the movie
