Acid free protection

Where can I find acid free protection for my posters? I want to keep them store in a tube, but can't seem to locate the plastic sleeves. All I come across are the sheets. This won't work because I want to keep them stored rolled.

  • These will crease at the edges if you roll them.

May you provide a little more detail, I'm not sure I understand?

The one tip I would provide is to take the sealed end and gently push it into the poster about and inch.  If I've got what Paul is talking about - he is concerned with the sealed edge compressing the poster end.  If you slightly push the closed end into the poster, this will eliminate the potential warping.
  • That's about it Charlie, if you roll any kind of sleeve/pocket, the seemed edge will wrinkle, which could affect the poster.

If it was me I wouldn't roll posters using these, but others may have done and it's been fine..
  • My suggestion is to buy the sleeves then slice the edges to end up with two sheets then roll a poster into each sheet

I am still not clear.  These are the ones you put a rolled poster into. You would roll the poster first and then put it in a 2.5" x 30" inch sleeve.  The plastic is never rolled or in sheets...
  • Every time I receive a rolled poster in a plastic sleeve, my feeling is that the sleeve is way too small.  Like 1.5" in diameter.  This makes the poster be rolled too tight IMO, and it is very difficult to flatten it out without damaging it.

I suggest you put the posters in a larger tube with oversized craft paper between layers.

    That'd work too.
