Worst Film Role Castings Of All Time

Mickey Rooney as Mr. Yunioshi in Breakfast at Tiffany's ( 1961 ) was a case of miscasting in the highest order. Does anyone have a favourite of their own?

  • Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins maybe..   Unfortunately I quite like him so I don't mind it..
  • Yes!  Yunioshi was terrible.  Makes you feel like a racist for laughing at him...

I liked him.  Who would you have put there instead?

BAT was on TV last night, Yunioshi is cringeworthy as always...someone like Mr Roper (Three's Company - UK or English) would have been just as good, or even someone like Walter Matthau.

Michael Crawford (yes he would have been too young), Lionel Blair, Bruce Forsyth
  • John Wayne as Genghis Khan in "The Conqueror"
Barbara Streisand as Dolly Levi in Hello Dolly

  • Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher
  • Oh, now we're on a roll...

I don't know many older Brits, who don't hate Dick for that truly awful cockney accent, but as I say, i'd leave him in as I like the fellow.
