Not the same as the original completely.  This appears to be one piece?
Originals are nice as a set of 3...one day mine are destined for the frame

Maybe by then I'll have figured out how "beautiful and elegant" daybills are!   =)
  • Well Mondo has completed the circle of bullshit by reprinting the Jaws One Sheet.  What a fucking scam... Dupe buyers for years with a beanie baby bubble and then reprint one of the most beloved posters of all time. I hope the staff at Mondo rot in some type of poster hell.

Yeah that is milking it. I wonder if the second printing can be distinguished from the first? And will mondo collectors take a similar approach to that of movie posters first and second printing such as star wars one sheet. In any case star wars was reprinted for the "right" reason (which can probably be debated if one wanted to).  For me it would  take the fun (ive got a rare one!) Out of mondo print collecting. Steve spielberg better buy up big on the second printing to save the market!

I sold off all my prints about a year ago, not for the above reason though just wanted to collect movie posters only.
  • Aren't they the normal mondo size of 24 x 36 and on card stock?

As Ves says, it's 24 x 36" and on thicker stock. It's also screen printed, signed by Kastel and has a minor difference in the credit block - "Original soundtrack available on MCA Records and Tapes" has been replaced with "Original soundtrack available on Mondo Records"

I'm generally not a fan of screen printing existing posters, unless they're concepts like the Struzan Pan's Labyrinth or the Struzan E.T. that were released over the last couple of years, but it's more because I like to see new art as oppose to thinking it's a scam or that they're trying to dupe people. It looks the same, but it's a different product to a one sheet...most of the kids collecting Mondo are probably put off the one sheet by the fold lines.

I do really like the art print version they released though (no text), I'm sure it'll look lovely and nice to have it signed by Kastel. Quite a good article on the history of the art and the breakdown of process here:

Ah! Now that would signal the end if Mondo did that!

Although Laurent did reprint the image...it was a giclee with no title/credits and much smaller too.

I wouldnt mind the jaws laurent 24x36, it is spectacular!
  • I've bought a few artist prints over the years, but all bar one or two have long since been traded out for the real thing.

The only one I intend keeping is the Tom Beauvais SW quad concept which will eventually be displayed beside my Chantrell.  B)

As per a recent exhibition ( Beauvais standing beside Tom's widow).

  • Nice Wil!
