Something of Value

Ok, so I have this, which is the original release as far as I know.

Now I have this, which is a RR...any ideas on year?

  • The original Chromo Print daybill was printed for the Australian first release in Sydney September 30, 1957. The Robert Burton version was printed for the Australian re-release circa 1962. I base this on that there was  the re-release in the U.S.A. in 1962 under the new title of Africa Ablaze! Apparently for the Australian re-release they decided to retain the original title. The reference to ''filmed under military protection'' on the Robert Burton is similar to the Africa Ablaze! U.S. 1962 re-release posters. Robert Burton only started printing MGM daybiills circa 1962 also. Most likely the film was re-released in Australian in 1962 or 1963. My guess for the re-release was the growing popularity of Sidney Poitier.
  • As always, thanks Lawrence :)
