I hope you didn't a hundred of the sides pre-cut.
No, just the one tester and fortunately not much wastage as I will turn that into a a couple of ends but I laughed at my stupidity - still, at least I am not French as well as stupid.

You could also fold the daybill vertically..that will fit the frame!!  :s

No that is not the issue...

(that is not the poster above for this frame)

  • Just hung this one up tonight, Apes 3 sheet that Mario expertly restored for me.
  • One kick-ass hanging to be sure. Congrats!
  • Great looking three sheet! Don't see that one very often.
  • Awesome!
  • In a forum full of DIYers, add framer to the list.

Wooden frame, UV100 non-reflective glass, acid free foamcore backing board, and in this heat, a lot of sweat.

  •  That looks great!!!:plus_one:
  • Fantastic! The sweat would have been worth the pennys saved from getting that giant framed! Well done handy man!

And one more for the day - pretty damn sexy if I do say so myself

I have reserved another frame for one other poster, a Long Daybill size, american theme... B)

  • Very impressive, David! Wood framing looks nice.

Where are you getting your supplies? Online? Locally? How long has it taken you to put one together?

That's my missing component, as framing is where major costs can occur.

Sourced from different local suppliers Mark. I get the acrylic cut to size by the supplier from 3m x 2m sheets - as I am paying for the whole sheet I try to use every inch of it so I work out all the different sizes in Photoshop. I try to use it all, I have a pile of 8x10s sheets now for future use!

I couldn't tell you exactly how long one would take as I am still feeling my way. The Monroe probably took an hour or so as it was my first big one and I was on my own - a bit more difficult to handle - lesson learned. The Daybill probably took 10 minutes.
  • Vey nice indeed David!
  • Awesome! I imagine you'll be dominating the "recent hangings" thread for some time to come!

Don't know what you are talking about.  =)

Did a few others then ran out of foamcore...get some more tomorrow.

  • Great looking job, David! Large formats look good!

*Looks like your leaving some masa showing which gives it a nice matted look.
  • Thanks Mark.

  • Great job!
  • Not really a Framing God today as these were existing frames, more like a Framing Messiah, besides I just changed out one poster. Apologies for the bottom glare, light was bouncing off the desk.

  • Sensational Dave!
  • Great titles, Great artwork! :plus_one:

I always thought you could only frame side by side posters of a similar genre but clearly not because they look truly fabulous , the yellows and blue greys in all three work well together and as Mark says great titles and artwork!!

The is light is coming fom you my Messiah...teach me show me the way (to a floorboard find)
  • Gorgeous...so when am I coming over for a coffee?
  • Only if you're leaving New York

Double Post!  Interesting...even though you get an error when you post, and try to repost, it still posts!

    Triple POST!

  • Probably server fart.
  • Couldn't sleep and have been meaning to swap out a couple that have been in the lounge/dining for AGES, so...............

Which led to the need to swap out some above my desk for a spare sheet of mylar, so..........

Hit a snag with one of the matts so need to correct that tomorrow when I am more awake with less possibilities of cutting a finger off...what will it be???????????????????????????

Sorry for the crap pic...better one after the wall is done.
