Whilst # 57 is hard, I'm thinking that with all the clues I have given, # 56 should be gettable. #'s 59 & 60 for more modern horror fans like Pancho I would have thought would be easy.
Image # 56 is The Lodger ( 1944 ). A rare daybill as I have only ever sighted two daybills of this title. The image I isolated is of course Merle Oberon but not looking much like her. Laird Cregar who played the title roll died at the age of 28 through complications ( following a heart attack ) arising from an earlier crash diet to lose weight for The Lodger. His funeral eulogy was delivered by Vincent price. Hangover Square his last film was released in 1945. The Lodger had been filmed earlier as a silent Briitish film in 1927 by Alfred Hitchcock and was remade in 1953 as Man In The Attic starring Jack Palance. The Lodger and Man In The Attic were based on a horror novel about Jack The Ripper titled The Lodger written in 1913 by Marie Adelaide Belloc Lowndes. Other versions of The Lodger were released in 1932 and 2009.

Everything I think it is, it isn't...ARGH!
It does with us all at some stages of life.
The leading man died the same year of the film's release. One more film he made was released the following year.
