Promoting Australian Cinema Attendance.

The above is an example raised on another thread of poster advertising on daybill posters trying to encourage people to attend  cinema screenings in the 1980s.

I have a few other examples from the 1950s of  daybills and there are possibly others from the 1950s and other decades as well . Would anyone care to post any examples they may have?

  • Yeah I have a few...need to jump on the other PC...more later if no one else beats me to it.

  •                                                                                                                                                                                    Does anyone have an Australian poster with this wording on it ?

  • I don't think I have ever noticed language such as these examples.  Will need to have a gander now!
  • The majority of the posters using this sort of promotion came from the late 1950s and mainly from 20th Century Fox where I have 10 examples  & BEF where  I have three so far.

Blitzkrieg                       ( 1959 )                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Another rare use of the BEF style of advertising used in 1959 on the above Australian release. This exact advertising  was seen  earlier on this thread with Carlton- Browne Of The F.O.
  • Still another rare daybill poster that I was going to down load an image of but as with the Dating The Wonder Man One Sheet it doesn't allow the photo drop down box to totally appear here.

  • This is strange.
went to add the Cool Hand Luke and clicked on the attached image logo but it wants a url link - which is different to how i posted it under the October purchases file.
I just tried again on the October topic and it was fine to add the photo the other way.
  • It is not just me then.
  • From newspaper classified advertising I have seen I am led to believe the Room At The Top Australian daybill would have some cinema attendance promotion wording previously mentioned on this thread printed on it. Does anyone have an image to share to confirm this ?
