Photographing Lobby Cards

In the great poster sort out, I have uncovered a bunch of lobby cards which I must now painfully photograph.
So to save me much pain, does anyone have any tips on how to do this will the least amount of pain?
Ideally I would like to take one shot of all cards together so I don't have to edit.
I've thought of putting them down of the floor and happy snapping from above, but my camera/tripod set up is not really appropriate for this.

Any ideas?

Depending on how may there is, use a scanner instead of a photo?? It's quite swift once you get going.
