Dating The King And I
There are two different W,E, Smith daybill designs of The King And I that.I believe are both from the Australian first release. I have only every seen one image of each poster and these designs are not easy to find.
The reason for starting this thread is to discuss and to try to determine where the Robert Burton Daybill, which is easy enough to acquire and also the William F. Schey Australian one sheet, which is harder to find, fit into the picture.
I pose the question were the posters printed as replacements for the long run of the Australian first release that commenced on December 13, 1956 or for the 1963 re-release in 70mm? I was going to write down my opinion straight off but maybe before I do this we can hear what other members think was the case.
