That was a hard one!

C435 is 1917 (2019). Clever film.
-
Well done!

C433 - The first film that came to mind was The Spirit of St Louis (1957) - looks like an aircraft engine.

Looking forward to more great research.

Here's a few that might fall into that same category, I'm not a fan of daybills with images at the bottom, it just looks like lazy design to me. I much prefer artwork, but possibly it's a way of fitting the one sheet artwork into a daybill format? Y…

Is C429 Silverado (1985)? I had no idea about that last batch.
-
Too hard for me I'm afraid!

Team effort.

Curiously the caption for that "R.K.O. Radio Stars and Features for 1934" picture in Everyone's (13 December 1933) lists:
"It" in Blonde Poison.

I also prefer it if you can't find the image through a Google image search, takes the fun out of it if that's what you rely on.

C424 Breaker Moran’s 1980?

You could check out this link for images. The type of card they're printed on is important, they should not look too new, it's doubtful cards of that age would look new.

I also like it when I realise there's a connection or theme with the photos.

Include the hard ones, it should still be familiar to some people. If I knew everything straight away it'd be no fun.

A hard one!

That did it. Ace Ventura:Pet Detective (1994)

I've seen that mage before but can't place it for now.

C419 - an iconic image form Wake In Fright (1971)

Yes, love them!

I don't think there was a lot of quality control for Australian posters in those years. Many of them had shoddy artwork so I think logo placement and usage was probably the last thing they were worried about. It's. shame when you compare them with e…

It would be nice to know if there was an MGM style guide for graphic designers. Nowadays a lot of logos have different ways you can position text against the logo depending on the context. I think in the case of MGM they probably had to use the lion…

I would buy that Godzilla daybill in a flash!

Of course!

C416 looks very familiar but can't place it for now, I'll keep thinking over the weekend.

I agree there wasn't much to work with in the original images but they just had that smell of a biblical epic about them both. Deserts, purple things (reminded me of purple robes)
-
C413 is Ben Hur (1959), they both have the look of biblical epics about them. I was thinking Cleopatra at first for C414 but don't think it is.
-
Three of them, Lonely Hearts, Man Of Flowers and My First Wife.

Correct. They tended to play the arthouse circuit where you could get away with a small but steady box office return. I think Hoyts expected big things from Lonely Hearts but it was never going to be a blockbuster. Paul's films were very eclectic, b…
