The Old Dark House looks amazing in the recent 4K restoration. (On sale now from Eureka - Masters of Cinema in the UK)
-
C22 was bugging me, then it came to me. One of my favourite films….My Favorite Year (1982)
-
I was a voracious watcher of TV back then, my parents would let me stay up and watch IMT with Graham Kennedy, and shows like Sunnyside Up, so I would have seen any publicity done for it back then.
-
No, just early memories of it when it was released. I would have been 7, so not much to share apart from being aware of it.
-
(Quote) That’s a blast from the past!
-
(Quote) Have you tried brute force? Or perhaps a mild sedative?
-
If only they survived!
-
Fascinating history.
-
Is 680 Radio Days? 1987
-
That’s amazing!
-
Is 260 Jurassic Park 1993?
-
It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. That’s Sid Caesar in the picture.
-
Totally agree!
-
My guess, and only a guess, would be the green is a 2nd printing, blue later printing.
-
One of my faves…C20, available in a great BluRay restoration from Criterion - Safety Last (1923)
C21 is pretty easy too! -
Not having seen it, but is it The Dry? (2020)
-
Once again a film I’ve never heard of. Well done on keeping us guessing.
-
Well done!
-
There must be some stills collectors out there!
-
The other pic is probably a zombie movie too I guess.
-
I don’t think I have ever had any Blake films material.
-
One of the highlights of my collection is the daybill, it’s very striking. Must get it up on a wall.

-
Would War of the Worlds have been cut upon first release to get that G?
-
C19 - must be The Ghost Breakers (1940)
-
Got it! On The Beach (1959)
-
That makes sense…but what about the other territories previously mentioned that had daybills? I imagine it was just economies of scale that meant that Australian posters were sent to territories that it was cheaper to send existing posters to, rathe…
-
I must check out the earlier version of 1984
-
I agree, I’ve never been a fan of him, but this series is superb. I especially liked “The Oner” ep 2, and "The Golden Globes".
Full of lots of in jokes, but very witty too.
Series 2 is on the way. -
It was this image that gave it to me…and I think I can see what you’ve done with the other image! Not a film I’ve seen, but the subject matter is very familiar.

Is C257 1984 (1984)?
