Hmmm, that 7 Brides one sheet looks very familiar???Ages ago I had a load of Aust one sheets from about 1953 - '58. Interestingly, An Affair to Remember was a US one sheet, while all the others were Aussie. No idea why.(Quote) I emailed you a pic of the original black daybill at the time. I guess about 3 years ago now. Unfortunately I don't have the image stored any longer. Basically same as the Aus one sheet.I'm holding it back for a trade on your '30s & '40s barn finds. :P(Quote)Hey, I paid good money for that!Ves, this will be like his profile on ozefilm.I'm still waiting after two years!Classy ...
Doctor at Sea springs to mind. Also Karate Kid & Star Wars trilogy. Not sure about the quality of the film, but it's the nicest Garbo daybill I've seen.Beats the drab and overpriced Ninotchka hands down imo.Spotted this locally and a very attractive long db.
(Quote) Okay. Also, they would look really good at your house!!(Quote) When you see daybills in 28 inch length it is a sure sign they are early '80s.Blue background Rocky is another one people mistake.I have a feeling these Anjohn titles are 16mm only.
This is an interesting poster as the colours are arranged differently to all the regular daybills. Not sure if a printing error or done deliberately for 16mm. …They are clearly different printings as per the trees in title box.See if you can find a Fox title from 1959 with Burton Sydney. If not, then it is 100% re-issue.1967 date needs exploring as well.Check out Thunderbolt & Lightfoot / Eiger Sanction '74 - '75.(Quote) You're in denial, John! :PBet you sold heaps over last twenty years, too!You don't see paper from 1958 that white.Haven't done much research on the poster with faded triangle, so no idea if 1960. Truth is I just believed what a reliable source told me years ago, and only started closely looking at the differences yesterday!I presume you mean Inn of Sixth Happiness?I think you have re-releases in your database, because Villa, Cattle Empire & Sing Boy Sing are all printed by W.E Smith. The original Peyton Place has no Sydney, other ve…(Quote)
I guess the question is: in '58/9 were Burton signing the Fox daybills Pty Ltd or Pty Ltd Sydney?????(Quote) You sure?Last time we were looking closely at a certain detail ...Across the wide Missouri is in their catalogue.BTW, you could have got the info off the cover of the book I posted above!!I only know second hand from the guys I bought from.Amalgamated was a division of Fox, and they distributed MGM films for 16mm, if that helps.Amalgamated had an extensive classics library, and with outlets in all major capitals, it's possible they had their own posters printed.Over the years I've bought 2 collections from 16mm projectionists totaling about 1000 daybills. None of them…I got plenty to more to test you and Hondo.Plenty ...
Nice detective work!!A: Shirtless (A&C printed) R61B: Shirt (Robert Burton 2nd printing) R62Police Academy 5 daybill coming your way. Woohoo^:)^Yes, more input needed. Wes A could have some first-hand knowledge as he was doing projection / cinema management work around that time.I would like to say that from what I have seen so far on the forum I think you're doing an excell…Shirt on in pressbook, but you can't trust anything in those images. If you look at Joan of Arc 1948 there is no "stars" in RKO logo, but appears on poster. Sometimes art is completely different. Not totally convinced from those…Silver anniversary pressbook >>
