He's old, Mark. Maybe even older than Lawrence! -
I asked my buddy who had a cinema at the time and he came back with this:
"I think the re-release of The Day The Earth Stood Still was just after Star Wars in 1977 or there abouts.

Thanks for the info on Bullitt.
FYI, DTESS & Cattle Empire were both 20th C Fox (distributed in 16mm by Amalgamated) & neither appear in the catalogue. I have 3 supplements & the last film listed is The Year of Living Dangerousl…

Speaking of different printings, does anyone know which is the first release for Bullitt? The pink & orange variants have different text r.e. Warner Bros at the bottom.

When I think about re-releases that are screened a significant time later, I think of a reason why. As we saw in an earlier thread GWTW was re-issued to coincide with Vivien Leigh's tour of Australia, and I often wonder if Wiz of Oz was shown to com…

You seem to be taking my earlier comments as some sort of personal attack, Bruce. They are only my observations as I browse through your record at different times. Unfortunately I don't have the time to email your staff on every discrepancy I find.<…

Sell now, authenticate later seems to be the industry norm from my POV. -
I said hundreds of sales, not hundreds of different titles.
The onus is on the seller to provide correct information. If you are relying on guesswork, then say so, otherwise spend 20 mins doing some basic research on the printer and distributo… -
I come across a lot of daybills in the archive that are wrongly listed as original release. Would probably add up to hundreds of sales.

I'm a '70s & '80s guy. Those are the films I grew up with and have the most connection to. Saw Star Wars at nine years old and never forget the experience!

I've been searching for Broken Lance & The Command for about 5 years. No sign anywhere ...

Hard to photograph, but very happy to add this Aussie glass slide to my SW collection. How many have survived?

Thanks. I like anything that's been in the hand, so to speak.

Picked up this nice little GWTW postcard. Seller told me they were handed out by the usher in a Sydney cinema. Might be from premiere, not sure. Original release rating.

The Tenebre daybill you have came from the Penrith drive-in in Sydney, which closed in 1984. (I obviously sold you that one way too cheap!)
I got 3 daybills from the ex manager, but have never seen another one. Same goes for Creepers & Oper… -
(Quote) That's why I posted (attempted to). They obviously had that art ready before the film came out. Makes you wonder if they went with two styles?

Here are a couple of small page adverts from Everyones August 1933.
Tried to add images but they vanished straight away. Maybe someone else can help. These are the links:

The helmeted figure seems to match the foreign posters / programs that are recorded, and not all long dbs had a blank space at top. If you measure on the screen, height is approx three times the width, which would give the right dimensions for a lon…

If you can get hold of Everyones / Film weekly mags they are a great reference for all Aussie releases.

This one might cross over into Missing daybills for All Quiet on Western Front. I think they are 4 x daybills??

The poster I know of belonged to an ex employee of Robert Burton. I have seen it folded up, but not laid out. I imagine they are just made of 24 x 1 sheet size pieces, but only guessing.A long time ago someone in Lismore was advertising a few b…From memory Niagara had a 24 sheet. Matt has the Aus press sheet so might check.I know of one 16 or 24 sheet that still exists, but not sure if is Aussie printed.
