    That's disappointing then.
  • I'll eventually get around to consigning the rest of my daybills, just been very busy with work lately and only just got a whole bunch out of storage. I need to get them to Bruce before the minimum consignment amount gets too high! (...or he retires).

TIME SENSITIVE! We have 643 posters, lobby cards and more SOLELY from English horror films closing today starting at 3 PM CT at https://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/15.html
PLEASE READ ON ABOUT THIS REMARKABLE COLLECTION!

Hammer Film Productions Ltd. is a British film production company based in London which was founded in 1934. For many years it churned out low budget films of little distinction.

But then, inspiration struck in 1955 when they made "The Quatermass Xperiment", which combined science fiction and mature horror (with an X rating, which did not mean the same thing in the U.K. as in the U.S.) and they had found their niche!

Two years later they struck gold with their first color film "The Curse of Frankenstein", reviving the classic Universal movie monster, and giving him an all-new look and feel, and they followed that up with "Dracula" (released in the U.S. as "Horror of Dracula") the following year and that paired Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing in the lead roles.

Over the next two decades, Hammer dominated the horror film market, reintroducing audiences to many classic monsters (filming them in color for the first time), and they enjoyed great worldwide distribution and considerable financial success.

Most movie poster collectors know that ALL movie posters from World War II and before are extremely rare (due to paper shortages and paper drives where most old paper was recycled), but did you know that first release English movie posters from the 1950s and 1960s is almost just as scarce?

Over the 36 years I have held over 2 million auctions, I have only auctioned a tiny number of first release posters from the great Hammer horror films of the late 1950s and 1960s, and the few times I did they sold for LOTS of money!

NOW we were consigned a remarkable collection of Hammer horror posters, lobby cards, pressbooks, and stills, and it contains a LOT of first release "country of origin" English items, and they all close TODAY, starting at 3 PM CT at https://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/15.html

The collection was assembled many years ago (perhaps soon after the movies came out!), but because the owner passed away, we can't find out any more. But we DO know that every one of the 643 posters, lobby cards and more SOLELY from English horror films closing today will have new owners, no ifs, ands, buts, or buyers premiums!

If YOU like collecting super rare items that almost no one else owns, THIS is the auction for you. Best of luck to everyone who bids!

  • The impressive above Australian daybill of the 1957 film The Smallest Show On Earth is currently one of 41 Australian posters included there on your newly included Tuesday auctions. This poster should be credited as being ultra rare as all your nine Australian daybills that you have sold in the past are not this original design, but are for a 1970's Australian re-release design, therefore making the above original design ultra rare. I thought you would like to know this information.
  • Thanks very much Lawrence! But I certainly hope you ALSO emailed this info to Matt, who, as you know, is in charge of making corrections and additions!
