Bound To Be A Bargain Or Two Here

Mainly little known titles that are up for Auction at Heritage on October the 8th. All printed by W.E. Smith and all are BEF releases, and I believe all originally came from Col Porter's collection. A nice selection of posters that one should be able to obtain for a reasonable price, one would think.

  • Thanks for advising!!

  • I did see those which made take note...but then it's Heritage so comes down to how badly I want to go through the hassle...not sure that much!
  • Just in case anyone is interested in bidding on This Happy Breed ( 1944 ), don't bid thinking this poster is from the 1945 Australian first release. The original poster was also printed by W.E. Smith and had the same design, but the distributor's details were shown as ''A  G-B-D Attraction'' in place of ''a B.E.F. Release'', which appears on the above image. The poster currently being auctioned is from the Australian 1953 re-release.

See...this was the only one I was kinda sorta thinking about.  Thanks Lawrence, for saving me the hassle :D

Thanks to Lawrence, I doubt our database has even ONE misidentified daybill! It takes much of an employee's time to make all the corrections he (and hundreds of others send) but it is worth the expense.

    Good stuff, Lawrence!
  • Thanks Rick. I emailed Grey Smith at HA. I haven't received a response back from him, but on checking the website I notice it has been altered to show the poster as being a re-release.

    Technically a response I suppose.
