Why Don't People Who Sign Up To This Forum Stay?
I am very curious as to why numerous people ( the majority who join ) become members of this forum and participate for a short time only then suddenly stop and we don't hear from then again? Interested in knowing how many are still around as lurkers? Full time lurkers I understand, or do I ? 1 know a funny true story I could relate regarding a person who continually auditioned for parts in theatre plays that I may possibly tell at a later time that I equate in a round about way to internet lurkers. For those who participate for a short time only then stop completely I would love to know why? It appears some people who join do so for a single reason only and when they ask a question on a subject and receive the answer they are after it's up, up and away. These motives I can understand but this surely doesn't apply to everyone who joins and only post for a short time only.
On the subject of lurkers I wonder how many of them feel they benefit from the information that is provided without letting the providers of information know their contribution had some merit to someone? Even a small acknowledgement would be appreciated by myself and I imagine also from other regular and occasional contributors who make up the roughly 5 % of members that do contribute on an ongoing and sometimes only basis.
Love to hear from one and all but not necessarily the 5% who do contribute regularly and from time to time but please feel free to have your views expressed if you feel inclined to do so.

There are many sites, like this one, that people use as a source of information without contributing anything. The majority don't feel the need to provide any feedback at all. I guess one way of measuring the benefits of the site is to check how many people are looking at the various threads. Some threads are of little interest to many people even though they are providing good information.
If there were only one, and the frequent voices from each were joined together, there might be more conversations relating to the hobby, and that might draw more people in.
As to not participating, I am a member here, ready and willing to answer any question about posters or movie paper where I can share what I know, but I see no questions of that sort.

As for lurkers, I don't care, I don't even know if people are lurking. In another poster website my account was closed because I was a lurker for too long. Tough crap for me. Its there site.
Good for our trio for allowing lurkers. People/members will post when they have the time or feel inclined to do so. I can't feel
sorry or cry if only two people commented on my last poster I posted (thanks David & Sven!)
Well played Stub, and welcome...
