Ebay purchase not received

Today I received an email from the wife of a bidder who said they didn't receive a poster I sent them. She said her husband had passed away. Here we go I thought. I checked my receipt with the tracking number and it was picked up from the post office 5 days after I sent it.

I replied with my condolences to her and gave her the tracking details. Then I googled his name and found that he had passed away.   http://if.com.au/2015/01/21/article/Vale-James-Walker/ZWDOODPVPN.html

I emailed back to offer a refund. She apologised saying she found it and wanted to keep it. A sad story amongst so many ebay scammers out there.

  • Very sad...well done Matt for handling well..that's good word of mouth for u as a dealer
  • Indeed a sad story.
  • I once sold a poster to a guy on the Mornington Peninsula. He had bought from me before so i shipped it off trusting and expecting he would pay. After a few weeks and no pay and a few emails, i was watching news one night on TV and his name pops up.
    He was murdered.
Turns out he was a millionaire and his wife was guilty - it wasn't me upset by losing a $50 Top Gun poster.
  • The craziest things happen.
  • Sounds like that guy bought one too many posters for his wife's liking...

A lesson for all of us!

    =)=)=) Three semi-erect jets up!
  • This is no joke, the poster I sold was a Top Gun as well.

  • :open_mouth:
