Paul's posters

  • Ah that last one is from Marks site, he has some nice posters up, unfortunately we always seem to be bidding against each other... He's cost me a few Bob over the years.

The Simon you mention maybe Simon Greetham, another known Hammer fan, and collector.

I get the impression people are using the term "Style C" Just to distinguish it from the two 58 release Quads, which is quite wrong. And if your not sure of an exact date "early 60's" does cover a lot of ground. All I know is, I was told by a fellow who was there at the time it was a 1963 release, but it's definitely wrongly described as a Style C, I'm surprised at Simon calling it that....

All said it is a jollyfine poster, I wish I'd picked up more myself in those days, but time and money being what it was........now where's that Delorean...
  • Niiiiiice!
  • A couple more from the Vaults...

  • Underwater, Invisible Man, Curse/Werewolf great looking posters! Who's/what's the old spectacles/naval looking guy? :-bd
  • Haha, oh yes, it's Will Hay in Windbag the Sailor. The credits are missing from the bottom, it's one of those bits I'm still looking for...
  • The Will Hay poster looks like a British 3 sheet , the bottom piece is gonna take some finding , people talk about rare posters but theres none rarer than British war time or before posters as this one is from the 30s I think.

Really great selection Paul and good to see so many British versions , it takes a lot of time to find these sort of posters , I always think as long as you have the cash American paper on most titles can be got easy but British stuff is something different
  • Thanks Guys.

The Will Hay is a U.K. 6sht, Which are slightly bigger than a 3 sht.  1shts and 3 shts were not really for the U.K. mainland, they were for the colonies, hence no Certs on them. The piece missing on the Will Hay poster is the size of a Quad, not a hope of coming across one me thinks...

You never know your luck in the big city...had two thirds of the 3 sheet for wake in fright...low and behold...seller turned up the bottom sheet!

Spectacular collection of quads...I think after my beloved daybills, quads are my next favourite size.

  • Thanks Ves, I do hold some hope as I have about 20 or 30 of these part posters, surely one day something will turn up... :(
  • Nice Paul
  • Just seeing if I still have the touch.... ;)

  • Yeah, I think I liked it better when you couldn't post pictures! ;)

Totally agree! I don't tend to buy larger posters simply due to lack of ways to display them, but double bill quads are an exception.
  • Nice pictures!!!
  • UMMMM!  Double bill quads.
  • Double bills are awesome because you can cut them in half and call them crowns ;)...
  • Nooooooooooo

  • Fantastic collection. Zombie Flesh Eaters is a classic horror image
  • The poster room this morning...

  • Looks like a Bond Museum! Very sweet!
  • :o Only the best Mr Waines!
