Re: Rare Australian Posters Of Australian Films
Mary Spicer then known as Mary Kimber had performed in the U.K. during the 1940s and 1950s and possibly 1960s., in mainly repertory theatre, where she had worked with the likes of Paul Scofield. Mary also performed in an unsuccessful run of only seven performances of the J.B. Priestley play The Linden Tree on Broadway in 1948 before it closed after only seven performances, She acted and directed on stage in Australia from the 1970's onwards in amateur theatre as well as guest appearances on television, and as at least did one prominent television commercial voiceover.HONDO said:HONDO said:A question Peter is when you worked on the 1986 made for television film Army Wives did you perchance get to meet any of the actors that appeared in the film? Mary's husband John was an actor originally from England as well as Mary where he also acted on stage. In Australia he headed an amateur theatrical company that I was involved in as an actor, where many of his directed plays won awards. As well as directing the majority of the companies plays he also acted in some of them as well. John also appeared in a number of theatrical films and television series where he had small roles including those in Emoh Ruo, The Flying Doctors and A Country Practice.
Both Mary and John were very talented people.

Re: The Science Fiction Quiz
246 solved, I had hoped the clue would have triggered an answer and it certainly did, so well done. A major studio 'b' grade film releasejayn_j said:The clue is 12 astronauts in image.
12 to the Moon from 1960. Saw that one ages ago.

Re: Hondo's Daybill and One Sheet Q&A [Re-Titled]

K, here is the original artwork for the one sheet...artist Ian McCausland. This is not what the final looked like, but that art is on it.
I do know what the final one sheet looked like, but I am not allowed to share it...sorry.

Re: Australian Daybills comprehensive Video on YouTube
Forty two discussion entries were added to the forum threads yesterday. There were fifteen submitted by me and twenty seven by various other forum members. This would have to be the highest number of posts surely to the forum ever.

I think your reasoning is sound. Films often change their title before they get released. The original title may not have tested well, or confused people...Americans!!!!!!

Re: Rare Australian Posters Of Australian Films
So sad. Hopefully his work can live on through his posters, and you may be as kind in include some of the images here,
The one sheets that I have images of are for Man Of Flowes, My First Wife, Lonely Hearts and Cactus. There is one other unconfirmed title waiting to be confirmed as being an original one sheet,

Re: Hondo's Daybill and One Sheet Q&A [Re-Titled]

Both the above posters were printed for the U.S.A., with the American distributor New Line Cinema credited on both posters. I believe that the above first featured black background image is only advance pre release artwork printed before the second above official release titled changed one sheet was produced. I will hold back on revealing some other information to support this, hoping firstly that I hear from anyone agreeing or disagreeing with this thinking.
