Loving 'Carve her name with pride' Rick.

(Quote) When I tilt the bill to the light the outline of the scissors is definitely visible, however the printed patch covering them is so well done I wondered if this part was deemed to 'scary' in Australia and censored for both markets before it…

Is it just the NZ versions of The Third Secret bill that have has the hand clutching scissors removed or is it the same on the Australian version? I just wonder because it's be very well done as if blanked over at source.

Sure is. Nice guy, sent him plenty in the past, but he's usually busy with Peter Jackson's impressive Sci-Fi / Horror collection.

(Quote) Sure thing, it's already partially through backing and apparently post bleaching it looks fantastic, and yes no one I've spoken to has ever seen another, which makes it rather tricky to appraise for his insurance!

A friend of mine's just pulled this out of his collection prior to getting it linen backed. I'd only seen US examples of this 1954 beauty before.

Ha, nice try

Also happy with the small hook hole in Spider's Web as opposed to a gaping hole from have a ratings decal cut out! (Still a tiny corner missing and tape to the rear of both bottom corners though).

(Quote) Agree, it was also John Wayne's 125th (or as near as damn it) acting appearance, so highly unlikely anyone was higher than him in the billing stakes. Also agree with the oddity of having republic and 20th CFox written up above, I've certai…

(Quote) Same, funnily enough I don't often uncover NZ printed bills.

Thanks, I'll take this NZ bill as the first release then, but David may or may not agree?

If only there was another copy around to see what's missing from the bottom (only 32 inches remain). The artwork is actually some of the best I've seen in a long time and I'm almost tempted to have it linen backed (not restored).(Quote) I read through it earlier on and followed the theory with Gregory Peck being front and center (along with the differing font) that the greenish one with the guns was considered the earlier print, however the thread ended with some disagree…Was there ever a unanimous decision on which order the Guns Of Navarone bills came? I thought some said yellow and some the greenish/blue. (with guns not boat?)(Quote) It funny how the Burglar daybill switched her clothing to blue, rather than the US racy red insert! and how the NZ censor felt the need to cover the word "LUST' on Room At The Top.A crying shame that Mysterious Pilot was so damaged, Capt Frank Hawks is looking mighty dapper though!(Quote) Ha, very nice David, unfortunately I got one with the remnants of a ratings snipe, funny though as there was nothing to cover, so a stamp would have sufficed!
