A Do You Know Your Classic Movies Quiz.

A new quiz aimed to test your knowledge on films that are now regarded as being classic films from the past. I am, I must say, excited about the possibilities of this quiz, I current;y have many other images that I intend to include here over a period of time. If you have seen any of the films that the images come from, you may immediately recognize them. Failing this though, you can still use your detective skills to come up with some answers,

As memory fades regarding details about a lot of viewed films, certain scenes from some movies clearly remain in one's mind. The images that I will include here are mainly from films that I do remember details on, and that have remained in my memory bank.

I prefer viewing films from the golden years of Hollywood to films on a whole that are produced today. There is still the occasional new film that I do enjoy, like for example Elvis, Top Gun Maverick and Where The Crawdads Sing.

I intend to not contribute to any other of my other quizzes for the time being, and solely concentrate on this quiz. Hoping the regular participants of my quizzes will enjoy this new quiz, and of course all other members are also welcome to join in the fun.

F. Cunninghame was the only printer to own up to the poster artwork for two daybills. The other fourteen printers names remain anonymous.

A New 20th Century Fox Stock Poster Daybill Quiz.

The above 20th Century Fox daybill stock poster was used for The Young Lions (1958) (film title added as Young Lions only).

There are twelve film images included on the artwork. Some of the images are of very well known films which should be easy enough to provide the answers to. On the other hand there are probably five that you may struggle with. I know ten of the twelve. There are two though that I struggle to identify.

A number of stock poster daybill image quizzes have proved popular in the past, so I am hoping this one will also be popular as well.

Are you able to name the films and the featured actors and actresses? Love to have as many people involved as possible. Everyone is welcome to participate, including any first timers on my quizzes.

O.k. I had previously stated that I was through with running quizzes, but I have now changed my mind. The quorum activity has recently slowed down to a crawl, so I though it needed a boost, and an opportunity to have some fun and to share your knowledge here. I believe the best way to accomplish this aim is by running a quiz featuring actresses from the 1930's to present day. This first batch is easy on the eye too. See how we go, and if any of the ladies indentites prove a little hard to answer I will provide some clues later on. Love to hear from one and all.

Screaming Bone-Crushing Horror Quiz.

Bruce is currently auctioning a stock poster daybill titled Screaming Bone-Crushing Horror which is completely blank apart from the title printed on the poster. It is being called 1960s but I have just advised Bruce it is in fact 1970s. I have also advised him of the distributor's name, the reason for the poster and two of the films names depicted on the daybill. Would anyone like to have a go and identify any of the film titles from the attached two images?

Top left Stephen Boyd in Costume as Mark Antony with Prince Phillip on set of Cleopatra, top right & bottom left Peter Finch as Julius Caesar and bottom right Stephen Boyd again as Mark Antony. Due to prolonged production delays these two actors were replaced by Richard Burton as Mark Antony and Rex Harrison as Julius Caesar. I would have preferred the original two actors in the roles.

The above actress will possibly be harder to answer, as this glamorous younger image of her is likely to throw you off the scent a little.

The original children's book The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz, was written by L. Frank Baum and published in 1900, from which the 1925 and 1939 The Wizard Of Oz films and many other film versions were adapted. Earlier on in his life Baum was thought to have written two racists editorials for his newspaper calling for the extermination of Native Americans. In 2006 , two of Baum's descendants apologized to the Sioux Nation for the editorials. I had never read about this story previously. Has anyone else been aware of this information ?

We have a collection of 11 signed deluxe 11x14 stills, where we don't know the name of the person who signed any of them.

Here is how YOU can help! Click on this link, http://www.emovieposter.com/online/unknown_20180220/, to see the 11 stills (10 of the 11 also have the backs pictured, and the first one doesn't because it is matted).

If you know one, post who that person is, along with the number under that still. If you know more than one, post a list that shows the numbers of the still you are identifying followed by the name of the person pictured.

Remember that all are signed (but most either with the first name of the person, or the whole name, but it is unreadable). Each picture links to a supersized image, and if you think you might know someone, click on it to read the inscription (for example, the first image of the accordion playing lady is signed "Anita").

Pointless re-titling

Hey gang!

I thought a thread about the weird world of re-titling might be fun. Now I get that distributors felt the need, on occasion, to completely change the title of a film from country to county, but what I don't get are the tiny changes that really make no difference at all!
