This info was kindly shared by Filip de Volder a French movie poster dealer, and will help those who buy (French) movie posters. Of course this doesn't mean the poster is original, a reproduction may indeed contain the same info.

If you have any questions post them here, Filip may be kind enough to answer if he is in the neighbourhood

-------------------------------

I'll get to the other printers later on .Starting in 1961 french posters had a Visa Number (see bottom of this post) but as there were sometimes re-releases using the original visa number one must combine the visa number with the printers info to be 100% sure a poster is a first release , hope this will be of help to some of you.

PRINTER SAINT MARTIN

There are some posters you come across that you never forget. You file the images in the back of your mind and quietly tell yourself eventually you’ll get around to them. This was the case with La Belle et la bête. After reading some posts in December of 2012 about the French Grande over on APF. I decided to finally do something about the situation. I first acquired the French double Panel in August of 2013. At this point I had no intention of purchasing the French Grande for this title. However, when the opportunity arose this past February to acquire it. I had no choice but to get it. For me both posters reflect the beauty and imagination of the film.

1946 French Double Panel

1946 French Grande
