I know this is rare (I've not seen one for sale previously) but i'm surprised it has gone beyond $500US. Not only is it laminated, the design and colours don't really grab me. For once, I'd prefer a US poster.

It's never really bothered me not having immediate access but whatever, if they are offering it then why not? So I click the button, and it proceeds to advise it has sent a code to my phone and all I have to do is enter it and all is done. Except...

The code doesn't work, after several tries over a couple of days on all the accounts on different browsers it doesn't work. I drop them a note...I get a response:

Hi guys!

I recently broke a long standing pledge that I had made not to deal with Heritage Auctions and threw a few dollars at a couple of daybills that I thought looked good. Hammer down, got 'em for a price I was happy with (even with BP) and I thought things were looking ok for me and HA again.

WRONG!

Just received an email to let me know that my two itty bitty folded daybills have been quoted at just shy of $110 USD to post! Their website doesn't list prices for international, however within the US their site suggests that it would be less than $12 USD to post - so apparently the extra $90 is to...um...well...

Frankly, I have no idea!

Australia Post Shopmate will send it for maybe $25 US, so I've asked HA to let me know how to get it sent there instead.

So, going through a collection of about 1,000 posters (headache country) and come across a DS Teaser for Spiderman (2002)...I look carefully into his eyes, he looks back at me, there it is, the Twin Towers. I remember years ago this poster going for few good shekels , so I hunt it out.

In 2007, selling at auction for around US$300, 10 years later around US$75.

Bugger.

Then to add salt to the wound...no taxi. Grrrreat.

These guys at Art Legacy seem to be conveniently - certainly misleadingly - leaving out the bit where is says these are ALL re-prints from the 1970s

Yet I note they are happy to describe them as "Original Lithograph movie poster" just fail to mention they are reprints. Stay away.

Anyone else suffer from the internal turmoil of knowing that a poster being offered is more than its really worth, but its one that rarely comes up? Lord knows I've passed on some titles and not seen them since; kinda makes my stance about not paying 'X' because it was only worth 'Y' seem a bit silly now.

Probably spend a little more than I should now days to compensate!

Anyone else struggle with FOMO?
