Re: A Do You Know Your Classic Movies Quiz.
If I had solely included only limited undisputed ''true classic'' films such as Citizen Kane, Casablance and The Wizard Oz in this thread when I had started it here in September 2022 the quiz would have long past run out of new film images to include, and I would have since ceased running it.Bruce said:Point of order. Does "do you know your classic movies?" refer to well regarded movies?
I will have to broaden my guesses when looking at images in this thread.
There are many meanings for classic and one is just high quality, I base almost all of my entries included here on this forum as being found rated 7/10 or higher on IMDb. Most films included on IMDb would not be rated 7/10 or more.
In retrospect I perhaps should have originally called the thread ''A Do You Know Your Well Regarded Movie Quiz'' then.

"The Flying Doctor" supported by "She Had To Eat". Perhaps he was treating eating disorders?

Walk Into Paradise (1956) rare posters follow below, displaying an Australian daybill, one sheet and four lobby cards

This film was released in the U.S.A. as being Walk Into Hell. Posters for this title are very plentiful in the marketplace as seen on Bruce's website.
A typical American title change and an exploitive poster presentation that was often the case when overseas films were released in the U.S.A. From Paradise to Hell a big call.

Hilarious! The Vampire poster with no vampire...
Re: All Things Film Censorship Related in Australia

Original U.S.A. one sheet and insert poster images for The Vampire from 1957.

The Australian one sheet and daybill images that were clearly altered to comply with strict Australian censorship advertising guidelines Where is ''The Vampire's'' image?

U.K. artwork for comparison.

Re: All Things Film Censorship Related in Australia
The one sheet was printed by F. Cunninghame, while the daybill was printed by W.E. Smith. Although W. E. Smith dominated the daybill poster printing in the 1940s it wasn't the case with one sheets.
Australian one sheets, as well as being printed by W,E. Smith were produced by many other different printers. Prominent among these were Victory Publicity, F.Cunninghame and Offset Prinitng. W.E. Smith printed the majority of the daybills in the 1940's, but didn't always get to print the one sheet as well.

Irrelevant, but I've always liked that landscape When Worlds Collide art - except for the bit where the tidal wave appears in front of the girls arm!

The above deal I do find amusing. Fast tracking to the American release of Mad Max (1979) in 1980. an alternative dubbed version was screened there.
If they had thought that the American audiences would have struggled with the Australian dialogue and slang in Mas Max, boy how then would American audiences have coped with the 1930's and 1940's film's Australian dialogue and slang, particularly with the Dad And Dave titles?
