A rare 1943 film poster of Coastal Command. To find original film paper from anywhere in the world doesn't happen very often. A small amount of original paper from the U.S.A. exists and also four very rare original theatrical Australian lobby cards were sold by Bruce in 2011. The lobby cards had to be designed and printed as the overseas posters and cards were distributed in the U.K. by Paramount British and in the U.S.A. by RKO Radio.

Let's hope the antique dealer doesn't read this synopsis

No it was a U.K. tourist / collector who purchased it earlier on in the day. After your last enthusiastic appearance there the dealer bumped up the price and sold it, reaping enough profit from that one sale to warrant leaving early for the day ton go for a drink..

Signs your collection is reaching the depressing saturation stage:

1) Anticipating eMovie's latest foreign paper auction for days - "come on calendar get to Thursday..."

2) Clicking on the auction link - "Woooooo here we go!"

3) Noticing 554 (!) Australian posters - "YES! YES! YES!" (while greedily rubbing hands together and laughing diabolically)

4) Start to scroll through the listings and audibly thinking "come on, come on where are the beauties I need - WTF is going on here?!"

5) Getting to page 8 and trying to push aside the utter despair that begins to creep into your thoughts as the realization slowly begins to sink in that there may be NOTHING here for you...

6) Maintaining some semblance of hope and perseverance to reach the last page 14 of listings only to, with increasing ferocity, begin slamming your fist on the desk in confusion. Then, in a frenzy, going to back to the beginning to click wildly through each page (that your eyes clearly must have deceived you on previously!) --- before completing the cycle once again and finally accepting your futile fate that you are reaching Daybill Armageddon

Sheâ€™s smiling? Oh yeah, I suppose she is! I donâ€™t know if I ever looked that far up on the poster before!

Awesome DTESS, Sven! Great colors! Chris, somehow you keep managing to raise the bar for yourself. You better hurry up and publish your own coffee table book of noir posters before I execute my expertly planned home invasion. I'm gassin' up the car right now, but the drive will take me a bit longer than when I was a Michigander. There is that pesky problem of needing a passport now, but I think I can bribe the border folks with coffee and some hot-off-the-rollers Timbits.

Anyhow, very well done on both counts, guys!
