Re: Missing Australian daybill posters of the 1950s.

(Movie Posters Australia)Just located this daybill image of Riot In Juvenile Prison that I had previously listed on Augus 20 as being unsighted. Interestingly considering the content of the film it is surprising to me that it only received a classification of for general exhibition.

Re: Hondo's Daybill and One Sheet Q&A [Re-Titled]
Thanks Peter for your thoughts. I don't know the answer, but my thinking is that the heads to be at M-G-M Australian knew that many Australian cinemas hadn't yet converted to Cinemascope projection, so to distribute their posters to non cinemascope equipted theatres the word cinemascope was left off the posters. In the early days of widescreen adaption during the 1950's Cinemascope films were also released in alternative anamorphic standard 4.3 shot academy format versions to accommodate the theatres that had not yet upgraded their equipment to be able to screen cinemascope films.'dedeposter said:Perhaps the Cinemascope credit was meant to be contractual and the local artists weren't aware of it? Hence the snipes.

Re: The Science Fiction Quiz
I've checked and it certainly looks like his signature, and it came from a long time collector who had other autographed pieces in his collection, so perhaps he forgot he had it? I'll never know, but if I ever sell it I'll say it's genuine!
