I finally got hold of the consignor (he was traveling) and I think I solved the mystery with his help.
He bought it many years ago in a Sotheby's auction in England in a lot of incomplete and poor condition posters. Everything else was English, and from 1939 or 1940 (likely found under a floor or in a wall).
So with that I would bet anything it is an English 3-sheet, but of course until a first release English pressbook turns up, we can't say for sure.

This is a complete preview gallery of ALL of the 887 U.S., non-U.S., non-movie posters, lobby cards, and much MORE that starts November 30th! Each thumbnail image in this gallery links to a single supersized version of that image). The gallery includes the auction title, including the lot numbers, so you can see the exact order in which they will be auctioned. It also includes the exact overall condition grade that is on each auction.
What this complete preview gallery DOESN'T include is all the images from each auction, and you CAN'T read the written condition information about each item's condition (or the film's description) until the items go "live" on the 1st. Of course that info will be included in the actual auctions! Yes indeed Bruce it is The Artist from 2011. I do 100% agree that it is a wonderful viewing experience, I also encourage anyone who appreciates fine films and hasn't yet seen it to seek it out. Some interesting facts about the film Jedda's running time.
The original Australian cinema release had a confirmed running time of 101 minutes.
Interestingly the Australian released DVD running time is listed as being only 91 minutes,
A most disturbing running time though is that of the originally released U.K. version with the title change to Jedda The Uncivilised, Wikipedia lists the film's running time in the U.K. to be that of only 61 minutes. This equates to this version losing 40% of the original film's running time. Those patrons that had originally viewed the film in the U.K. surely must have noticed problems with the film's continuity

Based on all you very helpful people contributed, I am now going to simply list it as a "three-sheet". I will say that it does not match the image of any known U.S. or Australian three-sheet, and I can see a possibility it is an English "six-sheet", but I can't locate an image of that.
I am sure it is an incomplete first release poster, and I will hope someone comes forward with more information!
