Hi there. Welcome back. I’ve got some new stuff to share…such as it is. Bunch of it is stuff I’ve forgotten to post in the past.There really isn’t that much to see. I kind of rushed through it because of that. Take a look or don’t. I’m not feeling all that fab today anyway so… It really doesn’t matter to me. Oh, the lights are dimming. It’s your last chance to leave. Otherwise, let the show begin…
HENRY & JUNE:
Normally, I would’ve passed on this poster. However, I realized it was the very first NC-17 movie ever released. So, for historical purposes, I thought why not? It was cheap. I never saw the movie though.
THE COMPUTER WORE TENNIS SHOES:
I may already have this. I don’t know. This is one of the Kurt Russell / Dexter Riley Disney flicks from the early 70s. I think they were a continuation of the Tommy Kirk Merlin Jones films… At least that at the same college or whatever, but with the younger actor/character. I’ve never seen them. Merlin Jones films though. I do remember these films with Kurt Russell. The one I wanted the most was. NOW YOU SEE HIM, NOW YOU DON’T. I may have that as well. This is what came my way, so I said why not?
10 CLOVERFIELD LANE (11x17):
Normally I wouldn’t bother with these little promo posters. However, low and behold, I came across this person selling a bunch of these things and… I got caught up. So expect a lot of 11 x 17’s in the next posting. For now, this is the only one. Well, I did like the Cloverfield sequel… I didn’t need these three. Whatever. Here they are.
I had this already. This is a poster I got a while back and forgot to share. It’s actually a retitling, but I don’t recall the original title. The skeleton cop is the selling point here. It’s why I wanted it for so long. I really didn’t need a second copy, but…
PIMPLE AT IT AGAIN (English Double Crown):
I got this two months ago and forgot to share it. It, and the one below it, are from 1913. It’s a boring poster and one I will never display… Why buy it? Well, as it is from 1913, it is officially the oldest poster in my collection. I had never heard of the PIMPLE movies before. Apparently, they are shorts.
PIMPLE HAS A TRY (English Double Crown):
Another PIMPLE movie short from 1913. I have no idea if these PIMPLE movies even exist anymore. If you look them up, there were a lot of them made.
LATITUDE ZERO:
I don’t think I have this yet, but I’ve come across it a few times and I know I have a Thai version. But I don’t think I have a US one sheet. I’ve never seen this movie. I’m guessing it’s not as popular as it could be or maybe you should be. It’s probably crap. But the poster art is fascinating to me.
ROMANCING THE STONE (special poster):
I got this a couple of months back as well… I think from September maybe? Or August? It’s a smaller sized poster, but Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas have signed it. It’s made out to someone named “Cameron” but… eh, why not?
TEEN WOLF:
This is an alternative poster for TEEN WOLF. I still haven’t seen the movies in the TEEN WOLF series, But I haven’t seen the TV show… Which I’m guessing is way different than the movies, which I remember were advertised as comedies. Eventually, I’ll give them a watch.
IT’S A REVOLUTION, MOTHER:
I bought this as a curiosity. There can’t be many copies of this poster floating around. I’d look the movie up. It’s a documentary from 1969 (although the NSS number says 70…or is that 72?). It’s not my type of movie at all, but as I said… This was purely a curiosity and also an investment, I suppose. Dig it. Groovy. Peace out!

I was disappointed by Quiet place Day One, it was basically the same story with different people. I expected it to focus more on the initial invasion.

Here's a quickie post to help answer the question (that no one is asking) about what to do with partial 3 sheet posters. It's a happy ending to two otherwise fairly derelict items. YEARS ago I bought a really large frame (the opening is 52x40 inches) at a thrift store for 15 bucks. I thought I got a steal, as it would be super expensive to have something framed that size. I thought that, until I figured out that there aren't really any posters that fit well in a frame that size. With the proper matting I suppose, any poster could probably go in a frame that big, but none of the art supply stores anywhere around here sell matting that big.
So, the frame sat (and sat and sat). Enter an ebay auction a couple weeks ago for a partial 3 sheet (top section) of Tarzan and the She-Devil. It's in arguably pretty poor condition, but it too I scored for 15 bucks (plus shipping, of course).
When I got the poster, I measured it to see what the size actually was. The measurements sounded dangerously close to the forsaken frame, so I looked up the measurements I had written down for it. It was close enough to make it work. Since the matting was large enough that I didn't have a straight edge long enough to help trim it down with the mat cutting tool, I decided to leave it rather than risk screwing it up. The result crops more from the image than I'd like, but it works out ok.
So, for plus or minus 30 bucks (and a few yards of document repair tape), I now have a gigantic Tarzan and the She-Devil poster. I have no idea what to do with it or where to put it, but for now we'll just consider it a poster success story.
