1950s Day bill poster
I'm new to the world of the history of vintage posters. Being a graphic designer I have always admired how amazing they are. I received these from a friend and was hoping to get some more info on them. I have done a little research on them but have had trouble locating two of them Operation pacific and Masterson of Kansas. Masterson is my favourite, the red, the image and typography is amazing. Pity a mouse has got to it. If anyone can shed some light that would be amazing.

Time to reveal the answer for 447 is The Thin Red Line, the original film version from1964. Kier Dullea (David And Lisa,The Fox and 2001: A Space Odyssey) appears in my posted image. Nothing picked up from my there is a strong connection here with the already answered 448.

In the 1950's to cater for the large number of post WW11 Greek migration to Australia, Greek films were imported (without subtitles) to be screened for a homesick prospective audience. Some city and suburban cinemas were acquired to screen these films. Apart from 35mm prints, 16mm prints were also available to be used in church and community hall screenings as well.
I have often looked for any posters produced for the Greek screenings without any success, that is until now. The following is an unknown English titled Greek film poster with the Lawson Theatre at Redfern Sydney snipe attached. The Lawson cinema screened Greek films there it would appear over many decades, where it would appear from at least the 1950's until the 1970's. The Greek films were imported by various small independent Greek distributors here in Australia.

A The Settlement (1984) rare Australian daybill. The only form of film poster material located. The film had a very limited Australian cinema release.

Yes Peter the idea had crossed my mind previously when you had mentioned you had thought that Barry Peak could be involved at the Nova Cinema. I will attempt to contact him shortly, but before I do that I will firstly, over the next few days include here some more information on the subject that I have just located.
